No class needed here. Just gotta be over 21.

Unless you just want one for when you go on roadtrips in other states and want to have your gun in your vehicle.

You have to to take a class in Louisiana to carry conceal. You can carry a gun in your car without a concealed carry depending on the state.

It won't be nearly as exciting as expect. It's rather boring actually.

Mississippi is OK to carry in purse or briefcase or backpack.

OK to drive to work with weapon of choice unless there is a gate.

Just about all day. Most of the time spent in the classroom then you have to shoot a very minimal amount on the range.

Gotcha. They have 8 hour, 4 hour, and 2 hour classes. My husband will be taking a 2 hour one....but it costs more than the longer ones.

I have no desire for a CCW, just took a basic women only gun safety class for the first time last night. I just want to be able to use a gun properly if I ever needed to....maybe get better with my aim and my stance.

In Alabama you can open carry, but to carry in a vehicle you must have a conceal carry permit unless gun and ammo are locked away separately from each other and both are not within arms reach.

The perp will be less than 10 ft away so just make sure you have a lot of ammo capacity to fill him up. Put the last one in his brain so he can't testify.

Your stance we can help with. Post pics.

Then find something other than a 'gun safety' class. Sign up for firearm personal defense of home defense class. THESE type classes will teach you about USING a gun. These CCW and basic 'gun safety' classes just teach you about the firearm itself and allow you to show the instructor(s) you can safely fire the gun and follow directions.....that's it.

Then you will have to open carry all the time, and that’s not always smart. In what situation are you thinking you may need to use a firearm? If it’s outside the home you should seriously consider getting a CCW.

The other poster is right. CCW doesn’t really teach you shootif skills. It’s more of a class about gun laws and the gun itself. There are other places that teach you handgun combat.
