There's a MiG 15 sunk in the mud somewhere in the Atchafalaya Swamp. A Baton Rouge man who was flying one from LFT to BR disappeared off of radar sometime in the 1980's. Never found him or the plane.

A guy was flying a MiG 15 from LFT to BTR in the 1980's and disappeared from radar somewhere in between the two airports. He and the plane went down somewhere in the Atchafalaya Basin and have never been found. They're most likely under 20 feet of mud.

Not a replica, there are a small number of older MIGs privately owned, and flown in the US.
