Then why did we create a GFM? People put funerals on credit cards everyday and pay them off over time. That’s what credit cards are for.

I'm sure at the time he asked for the money he didn't know she was able/willing to put it on her credit card. He likely thought he was on his own.

And despite a few a-hole responses, thanks for posting an update.

I truly hesitated to post today .. but my nature is to try to see "the other side" even if I question "the other side" myself .. I'm not trying to change anyone's opinion or anything. Just wanted to update.

She did say that CD is absolutely getting the help that he needs.

That is the most important thing from that entire ordeal. Dude seemed to have lost his grip on sanity/reality. I hope he gets through this rough spot to be a good father for his youngest kids.

I thought there was a GFM to pay for the autopsy. Doesn’t that make it the stakeholders business?

That was before the hospital agreed to do one. They were going to have to pay out of their own pocket. Once the hospital agreed they closed the account.

I was talking about CDs life insurance beneficiaries in the future if something happens to him. Not the GFM now.

Gotcha. My bad. And I absolutely agree. That shouldn't even be debatable.

I'm told not doing well. No elaboration and I didn't ask for more.

I wish I knew why this weighed so heavily on my heart ... Lord knows I have enough other crap to worry about ... I guess I realize that this could have been me dead and my husband left with 3 kids. Many differences as I'm well covered with insurance and family support locally etc, but it really has bothered me.

It's a terrible situation for anyone to be in and even worse during the holiday season. I hope CD and his family get the support they need and eventually recover from this.

JML, I can't remember ... I think it's a family friend or someone who was mentioned in a post on Sonya's FB page from KG. At the time, Sonya was asking for a medium that she could visit with.

My mom's dad died on NYE when she was 5

My dad's dad died like a week or so before Christmas when I was 6 or 7 in the duck blind with my dad.

Holidays at my house as a kid were good and fun but had a somber overtone for sure.
