Minor League baseball would work better in this town.

Not a chance. LSU is essentially our minor league team with 12000 people at the Box.

LSU doesn’t have men’s soccer or hockey, so those sports would have no local competitors. I can’t see hockey being successful here unless all the seats are in the shade. There’s just not enough entertainment money to go around.

But seriously, would that be an okay spot for a big zoo? Is it large enough?

A better location would be to build a soccer stadium adjacent to a Home Depot.

There is a Lowes and Home Depot nearby.....

how can they compare BBVA compass stadium to baton rouge?

I imagine a large soccer and baseball complex for mostly recreation teams would be a nice use of the property.

Lease it to Brec and BRSA for leagues tournaments and practicing. It could be turned into and elite soccer academy and pull in teams and players from all over the state. Host area high school games as well as state tournaments.

The BREC park on Burbank has a bunch of soccer fields in a much better location. LSU has a soccer stadium. I don't know if they do high school tournaments there but it would also be a much better location.

That's actually a good idea. Soccer and baseball.

Why do they always go for the hair-brained ideas and not the practical ones?

Well they tried to get a buccees. And an Alamo movie theater. And a top golf.

Seems the hair brained ideas are the only ones left.

I'm reading this as Hebert wants to unload this shite property and thinks it would be great if the taxpayers picked up the tab via LED.

I hope it does, but I’ll believe it when I see it. Don’t put it past the elected officials of BR to screw that up.

It's permitted and approved by local planning bodies. They even have a permit to sell alcohol.

Going up at the old Tinseltown property.

That’s all fine and dandy. Again, when I physically see it, I’ll believe it.

I dont think its a good idea. There is already a very nice multi-field complex over on Burbank in a much nicer area of town (save the gardere patch).

Bro they tried hockey. The Kingfish are no longer around.

They tried soccer. The Bombers and Capitals are no longer around.

Minor league franchises don’t work in BR.

None of that was proposed in NBR
