That's roughly time for manslaughter and insurance covers other costs

No. Hence why he'll be serving time in prison for the next 10 years.

He was also going 40 mph over the speed limit

He'll be out in under 7 years. Colorado does 10 days gain time per month.

Would've cost him $0 to pull into a runaway ramp... or upshift.

It costs between $4,000-$10,000 to tow an 18-wheeler from a runaway offramp and I imagine a sizable portion comes out of his wallet - if not all of it.

Probably because he was going down hill with 10,000 lbs of vehicle behind him.

1 count.

I'm guessing with 4 deaths and 28 vehicles involved that policy was maxed out really quick, leaving a huge deficit.

Right, which was also his fault. He shouldn’t have been going downhill knowing he had no brakes

I think the brakes went out on him when he was trying to brake as he was going down hill.

I think it rather obvious why the governor commuted it to such a light sentence (considering there are four people dead). The truckers were holding the state hostage. Many were still refusing to deliver goods into Colorado. And now with fires raging like mad out there, the governor is going to need food, water, and other goods to help the dispossessed.

They did but he had prior knowledge that they were on the verge of going out

So why did the brakes fail?

How often was the truck inspected?

Was all the maintenance done properly?

Who was the person who last checked the brakes?

Was he/she properly trained?

Audit the records.

Just like the 2020 election.

Overcorrection here. 20-25 years was probably appropriate based on going 85 in a 45.

I think 110 years was too much, but, man, 10 years seems like not enough for the damage and pain caused by his negligence.

Below is a video of him coming down from the mountains about 3 miles from the wreck.

He clearly avoids the crash ramps and had earlier stopped to check the breaks up in the mountains. He knew he had problems with them.

Not sure what sentence would be acceptable, but 10 years just doesn't seem like it.

I mean isn't 10myears to much? His fricking breaks went out. Did he bypass run away truck ramps? We're vehicles blocking those ramps?

Driving a big rig in mountains is fricking wild. Just towing a RV or a 24ish boat is kind of a wild experience in mountains.

I don't really know enough other then his break went out and I see the wreck at the bridge. 110 is insane, 10 is steep imo. It not like he was driving in Louisiana or Texas and was speeding into traffic.

It was a run away (no brakes) truck with tons and tons of weight going down a mountain.

His brakes were smoking and he had numerous chances to pull over, including a runaway ramp. No, no one was blocking the runaway ramp.

Idk that video looks like he didn't have control of the truck was already going to fast and he was trying to keep it from rolling imo.

But he should have taken that chance.

They should go after who ever maintained the truck I would think it's not just him and he is not solely responsible for that.

Colorado governor is pretty reasonable for a democrat.
