Not trying to play Internet badazz here, but if you're the parents how in the FK do you not go all HAM on the perp and or the system that allowed this to happen?

That's not how it works. Being crazy does not absolve you from your crimes. All it does is determine what kind of facility you serve your time in. It is not a get out of jail free card.

If this is what happened then the system failed bigly and there needs to be lawsuits.
Just because you're crazy does not mean you get to do what you want and then be released. That's not how it works. The law clearly says insanity does not absolve a person of crimes. All it does is determine in what kind of facility they must serve time. There's tons of people who were deemed insane at trial who are in prison right now.
