Went through the same thing with my little girl. She was also on Zantac. If it's reflux causing it, try folding up a blanket and putting it under her crib mattress to give it a *slight* tilt. Keep an eye on her to see how she sleeps like this, though. You don't want her rolling and getting bunched up in the crib where she can't breathe.

Also, talk to your pediatrician about switching formulas. We had to switch ours to Nutramigen, which was expensive, but it helped. Just be aware that it's not a quick fix. You may have to give it to them for a week or 2 before they are used to it.

Good luck.

shite...two weeks?

You're in for a rough haul.

First kid? You'll be up all night.

After that you learn that they aren't china dolls

Switching formula helps. There are traiteurs that heal for it if you know any. My son was a pain until 4 months old. We tried it all and it helped. Now he sleeps nearly all night. Might wake up once a night to eat but that's it. Good luck. It doesnt last forever.

Really? Good to know. Ones I saw on Amazon were like $200-250

I'm totally buying that swing when I have a baby though. No matter the cost.

Been there done that... my 10mth old had it for 3 months straight.... a few things will help...might sound like BS but i swear by it.. 5pm EVERYDAY, the dude was like clockwork. Wife tried eating diff foods. changing bottles... Browns included... Did everything, we are both ER nurses so we have decent medical background.

1. a Vacuum Cleaner--- Serious as sh*t!! put a vacuum next to your rocking chair or wherever you sit with her and when she starts crying, turn it on. I thought it was COMPLETE BS too until my wife did it. It was the only way we could get my son to quit. My wife told one of her friends about it whos kid has colic and it worked as well. Ended up buying a CD of just Vacuum noises, best investment ive ever bought!

2. Dupois' Home remedy. Made by a Pharmacist some wher in the state. Has a few meds in it that helps. Had to give it to my boy about 4x a day but it seemed to help. Dupois

3. Our pediatrican is extremely conservative. Even though we KNEW the kid had colic, the guy kept blaming it on gastric reflux or some other BS. Ask for some medicine called LEVSIN. It is weight based anti-spasmodic that is the best thing ever created by man.

Try these out and keep me updated. Hope this helps... and yes.... im serious about the vacuum

Not at 2 weeks. The cry out method is recommended for when they are a little older.

Yeah, didn't realize it was 2 weeks. I know with my firstborn it was snuggling rocking walking with at every little whimper.

I wish I could have those times back

This is the one we used with both our kids. Swings back and forth and side to side, plays 8 different kinds of music, has lights and a motorized mobile. Worked great with both kids.

Try to switch formula if she is taking formula. Mine is drinking breast milk and formula. But I know on my other two boys we had to change formula to the expensive stuff. Neutramagen (spelling) If was worth it because the gas was making their stomachs upset therefor they cried non stop Good luck

Swaddle the baby when she/he sleeps.

No way, little girl is having none of that. I can wrap her like the best burrito in the world and she will not stop until she has her hands and feet free. Very hot natured.

Try the Enfamil formula in the blue can or the Nutramagen in the orange can.

Do what everyone else has suggested regarding positioning, driving, swinging, vibrating.

From my personal experience, you have a long YEAR ahead of you.

I would tell people and they would think i was nuts.... its crazy. We tried the swaddleing bs... basically EVERYTHING that is written about on the net, we tried. Was a HORRIBLE 3 months, but after she gets 3-4 months old, its like a different baby. This was our first kid as well so i def understand!

we also were buying that expensive formula that was around $40-45 a can..... I duno if that worked because it was the same time he started the levsin

ETA: Nutramagen was it

These worked for my wife and I. We also used Tommy Tippie Colic bottles and it helped us out.

Ask your pediatrician about Bentyl, prescriptions sound scary for infants but a little of that is better than an aisle full of "remedies"

Mine was the same, it works.

Swaddle.

Also check out "happiest baby on the block" and buy the book/DVD set. The DVD takes like 10 min to watch and it will change the way you think. It's like freaking magic.

White noise/vacuum is part of it. They need noise for at least 3 months.

My son was collicky(sp) as frick for a solid 5 months.. It was nothing shy of miserable. We spent probably $500 on colic meds and none really worked... You pretty much have to let them grow out of it.

The swing was the best thing I've ever purchased In my life. I remember the first time we put him in the swing.. My wife and I were actually able to go sit on the patio and enjoy ourselves for 30 minutes he's 8 months old now and still loves that swing

Colicky baby - I'll never sleep again
Our little bundle of screams has started to be colicky.
Every night, 9ish till around 2 am she cries her head off. Sitting up seems to help her some, laying flat on her back is a no go for sure.

Last night was her first dose of zantec
I just ordered those Dr Brown bottle things
We have been trying gripe water
Generic brand gas drops
We burp her constantly

I know there isn't a cure all, but any advice at all?

FYI - dreams get pretty crazy after long periods of little sleep

I feel your pain. We probably had the worst Colic baby in the history of the world, but it did get better eventually. I don't know where you live, but there is an all natural pharmacy in St. Martinville called DUPOIS, they make a colic formula, that helped us A LOT. I am not saying its a cure, but dammit it helped. Good luck brother, I really really really feel your pain.
