-40 same in F or C. Was in Thunder Bay Ontario, tires on the car get a flat spot and you plug your car in overnight. No they are not a bunch of greenies up there w/ electric cars, its for the block heater so the car will start after sitting up all night.

Almost went to Siberia for 8 weeks for work in Jan/Feb 10 yrs, thankfully that never materialized……

-8 in Akron, Oh, last year the wind chill was -36. Skin exposure after just 2-3 minutes was just pure torture.

-11 in Bridger Valley Wyoming 2007 with the wind blowing about 35-40 mph.
Even snowed the first four days of June.
Middle of nowhere and nothing as far as you can see.
Give me 90's and Louisiana humidity any day

It was -8 here when I left for work this morning with 15-20 mph winds. It was bitter to say the least.

Last year we had -15 with the same winds, I think that was the coldest I have ever been.

Minneapolis set a -35 below wind chill at 6:30 AM before school gets called off, so they closed school. St. Paul set -40 and they had school today.

Directly after I graduated college in 2012, and before I began graduate school, I moved to Minneapolis for a year and did some data analysis stuff for the Minneapolis Public Schools. They still send me automated calls RE: school closings, etc. These calls typically happen early in the evening. The last one I received was on Tuesday at 6:30pm.

While in the Marines several places stand out; Bridgeport California for Mountain warfare and SEER school, Fort McCoy, Wi and Norway for cold weather training. Norway was more than -40 but Bridgeport and Ft Mccoy actually felt colder and caused more problems for us. Some guys got frost bite in Bridgeport. Got the blue nose award for going above the artic circle. First timers ran across the flight deck and was shot with water cannons in their skivvies. It was about -10 that day.
