Uh, bodies make tumors, too, baw. "Organic" cancer is still cancer.
People die if the THC receptors of the human body are blocked smart guy.

Commercial production of some of the more promising ones (other than CBD) may be problematic because of so little that remains in each plant after processing. Obviously, I'm for research. Hell, I'm not against recreational use for adults, currently. I am just urging caution.

Actually thee are several very high dollar extracts with further processing and worth it if you make the capital investment. With a guy I partner many deals with, he was handling sale of an already approved FDA facility while I was already working on putting together a new plant project.

As to your earlier comment about mental issues, how true that is. This could be a chicken or the egg type argument but many schizophrenia patients were normal before they started smoking weed in their late teens.

Most who smoke weed beginning in their teens never had an issue later in life. Many just grew up like teens/young adults who binge drink don't become chronic drunkards.

Not true about being ineffective without THC. The problem is that many retail sales of CBD has almost none if any CBD in it. Being made in Class 1 FDA approved facilities they cannot make any claims to effectiveness so play fast and loose with saying CBD. Sort of like "Organic Products" which is almost always a marketing scam with no legal claim. Many CBD products might have 1/10000th of a percent of CBD blended in and can legally say CBD.

I wouldn't get into hemp farming. Most small hemp farmers already existing thinking to get in early, cannot find buyers and lots of CBD labs with CO2 extraction have already closed due lack of business acumen by those who jumped in early.

I believe that they are called cannabinoid receptors which also serve to be receptors of other plant extracts. At least that is how it is in the brain. There are in fact other plant extracts which block opioid receptors but stimulate cannabinoid receptors in the brain. fricking Bain Capital beat us to buying IP for from one company where owner in his 80's was retiring and liquidating after loosing his main cash flow easy peasy money to S. Korea when J&J sold oral care products to LG 2 years ago.

But you'll obviously still makes claims about marijuana/cannabinoids without it.

Thousands of years of human trials isn't enough to determine its safety?

Side effects of cannabinoid receptor blocker Rimonabant showed doubling of mental issues.

So maybe since use increases risk, and blocking the receptors increases risk, perhaps, cannabinoids and mental issues are currently not understood at all?

It's fun to laugh at CNN but the real issue I have with this story is the ridiculous amount of money that goes into grants or whatever that funds such stupid "research."

Believe it or not there are simply some people who cannot smoke pot without becoming legitimately and totally psychotic. Of course, this is a very complex issue that will never be sorted out any time soon. I am not against legalizing weed either.

I have seen this many times in the work I do. Of course, it is the exception not the rule. I view it like the guy who always becomes violent when he drinks. There are some people who always get violent when intoxicated. They are not the majority. It is unique to them.

It's really hard to find news on TV. Nothing but people giving opinions. Right now it's all about whether Trump is doing the right thing. I don't watch either side long.

Hate any show that has more than two people discussing things. Wish they'd go back to just giving news for most of the day. CNN Headline should be all news during this the way it was during Katrina.

Well, not nearly. But there is always another side of the equation - benefit.

At least MJ/cannabis has some proven benefit in key areas and there is support for a potentially huge range of positive applications across the chemical spectrum of the plant (even THC), so you can do a much better risk/benefit analysis on it for both society and individuals.

Heroin has virtually zero benefit profile, particularly compared to other opioids (and those have their own dangers as well). Cocaine (not specifically crack) does have some short term benefit to wakefulness and concentration, but the risk of psychological addiction is huge. There are also some limited uses of cocaine, medicinally (nasal and dental, primarily).

All amphetamines have similar benefit/risk ratios - can benefit ADHD, again wakefulness and concentration, although with similar (if lessened) psychological dependence as cocaine. Amphetamines also have some physical dependence risks.

MJ not really addictive in the classic sense (just habit forming in some), so that risk is much, much less. And the proven benefits put it in a vastly different light for me.

But, it is not the completely harmless, natural, "organic" high that its advocates present. I continue to urge caution.

Agree.

The pro-weed people can be as annoying and emotional as the anti-vaxxers.
