Question is: are those hospitals actually taking in people who should be there? Ie people at real risk of harm.

also, hospitalized doesn't equal taking an ICU bed based on that graph. And I'd like to see what that graph looked like in March instead of starting in May.

Yeah they are getting ICU beds to pad up their billing to replace revenue....and the patients themselves are okay with it in spite of just having a lingering cough.
Hell, who am I kidding. Docs are probably slipping them a 100 a day to just keep quiet.

No one said it did? You can be admitted without going to ICU.
The only COVID specific line is the red one. Everything else is just general availability.

I don’t have it in a nice postable graph but the Texas DSHS coronavirus dashboard has the peak COVID-19 daily hospitalization admission rate prior to reopening as occurring on May 5th with 1888 patients. Data only goes back to April (there really weren’t many cases in Texas in March).
It has been above that threshold every day since Jun 7th.

Now, was it worth the shutdown is another story. But denying the seriousness of the virus is about as stupid as you can be. I've seen firsthand otherwise seemingly healthy people die within weeks of getting it.
