In Texas, California and New York they have these places called "Tech Shop" and you can pay monthly for access to tons of shop equipment. C&C four plane planner (wood CNC machine basically) 3-d printers, plasttforms, laser etching.. etc
I was so jealous of the one in Round Rock, if we had a place like that in NOLA I would be in there every day.

Worked around those most my career, amazing machines. Have you seen the 3D printers lately?

I use a similar type machine everyday in my dental practice to make crowns.
Cerec Crown Machine
Patients are constantly amazed by this technology and are thankful they can get their tooth fixed in a single appointment.
whoa I had to wait a few days for my last crown.
Which just fell out and my dentist moved so I need to find a new dentist as Im not liking this gap and small tooth.

Looking at the ultimaker 2 right now. Probably pull the trigger on it in the next month if I get this next consulting gig. You know anybody with one?

I looked hard at that business model as a possibility in Baton Rouge. I just couldn't make the numbers work to do it. Definitely like the idea but don't think would be enough demand around here like an Austin or major California cities.

It's a very cool place. Went to the one in Round Rock with a buddy. Need one in Houston. I'd definitely join it. Only like $125/month.

Is that an OT baller doorknob?
At one point I thought it was the Stanley Cup, but the scale was all wrong.

No, it's one of the few brands that I've never heard of before. But, the specs are pretty impressive for the price.

Cool video. This is right up my alley. I draw parts and get to see them spit out of our CNC machines all day. We probably have 30 or 40 CNCs plus quite a few manual machines for smaller quantities and/or less precise parts.
Here is our newest monster multi-axis lathe:

The concept of turning a hunk of metal into something is pretty cool.
That is pretty cool. I'm surprised they're not using cutting fluid in the process though.

We discussed that earlier. We decided they didn't use any fluid just for the video.
