I don't watch BET because it's terrible and doesn't fit my wants.
No reason to hate on it. News flash for the oscar noms: maybe the actors that were nominated are just better than those that weren't.

I know she has gotten shite in Hollywood for years because she's a Republican

That's a fair point to be made, but BHM and BET are pretty poor examples to target imo.
BET is a channel that caters to a certain viewer that enjoys that brand of programming. What's the problem?
There really is no "but." That is the point. This is stemming from the Oscar controversy. Her words...

Either we want to have segregation or integration. And if we don't want segregation, then we need to get rid of channels like BET [Black Entertainment Television] and the BET Awards and the Image Awards where you're only awarded if you're black

I don't know how public knowledge this is, but BET is owned by a white dude
Stacey Dash makes good points, but is using terrible examples to back her claim up.

You don't like watching Fresh Prince, Martin, and Tyler Perry, other black sitcom re runs all day? That's basically what BET is now...

Yeah, but I honestly think it has more to do with how over the top she goes with her views.
There are plenty of black celebrities/entertainers/athletes who are republican and no one cares.
Heck, didn't Outkast play at some big republican event years back?
I liken Dash to a father who coaches their son. Sometimes in their attempt to show they are fair, they push to hard just to show they are not playing favorites

Then her point is stupid because this doesn't happen.

I don't see the connection between shutting down BET and improving race relations. It sounds like she threw something on the wall and was hoping it would stick.
She's a mid 40's actress who somehow found work as a political commentator and she's gonna say whatever she needs to to keep them checks coming. She's also the personification of that Dave Chappelle joke about calling Ja Rule for his thoughts on serious events.

Founded by a black guy who sold it to Viacom. Same black guy was the first majority NBA owner when he brought the Bobcats to the NBA in 2002.

How can that be a 50 year old woman? She must have left the earth at light speed and came back 1 year older while the rest of us were 20 years older

It would be nice. It applies to all in my opinion.
Not just blacks or whites. All of this gender foolishness and so on.

I want some upvotes from the OT so I will leave this Stacey Dash quote right here:
“I think that’s why divorce rates are so high, Women don’t know how to take care of their men anymore.”

Funny she's getting destroyed and Morgan Freeman said EXACTLY the same thing and no one said shite.
That's life. It's all in the delivery, which includes who is saying it.
Morgan Freeman said the same thing, but his was more from a "every day should be black history" standpoint and hers was more from a "black people don't need their history to be special" way. Not that I agree or disagree with either one, but if we're talking strictly verbiage/delivery, his is more in a way that can resonate with the black community.
Plus, it's Morgan Freeman vs. her.
I say shite on this website all the time that gets shite on... while I've seen praised when it comes out of the mouths of others. Such is life.
