The problem with the creationism versus evolution debate is that each side has to be incredibly naive to think that the creation of the universe, Earth, and every living thing on it can be summed up in a couple of chapters. Take Genesis for what it is, Noah's account of creation and the beginnings of man. Noah lived 3000 years ago. If he spoke of evolution and quantum physics, no one would have understood him, and the story would not have lived on. It was told in the terms that the contemporary man could understand. Creationism and evolution can absolutely coexist.

And of course, both are lies.

So kids can learn how to become scientifically literate
Isn't that a good thing ?

You say that like it's a good thing. Look if you want to believe in science in your home then that's fine, to an extent. But your science has no business in a public school. Your beliefs in theories and witchcraft shouldn't hinder my children's ability to learn.

If you're a deist, sure. God created the universe and its laws/mechanisms to his liking, set it in motion, and just sat back and watched what happened.
But I've talked to people that acknowledge evolution for everything except human beings. And that's just silly.

Ah yes, the quintessential creationist "gotcha" statement. It is easily squashed by a basic understanding of how selective pressures lead to population divergence.
Molecular techniques, like 18s rRNA sequencing, can largely identify which genes we have in common with other organisms. You can actually quantify how far apart various primates have become from one another
Ah yes, the quintessential message board scientist. He was joking you fricking try hard

Why do people use the word Darwinism and what exactly is it?
"Darwinism is a theory of biological evolution developed by Charles Robert Darwin and others, stating that all species of organisms arise and develop through the natural selection of small, inherited variations that increase the individual's ability to compete, survive, and reproduce."
LINK
Unfortunately, the Darwinist claim isn't supported by the scientific method.

It's silly and The Bible in way addresses it. You have to be a kook to think faith precludes science and you have to be a kook to think science precludes faith.

Good. Whether you believe it or not, learning opposing arguments does nothing but give people perspective, and increase overall intelligence.
hahahahahahahahahaha
only if the opposing idea is liberal
not so much in colleges run by liberals

Addresses the silliness?

Those two words have pretty much opposite meanings. If you would've said something along the lines of 'you can have faith in god and still practice science', I'd agree.

I was agreeing with you that it's silly to agree with evolution, except for humans.
The Bible is absolutely not a book of science, if anyone thinks that science and faith contradict one another they are sadly mistaken. For that matter, the origin of scientific inquiry was to prove that this world was too great to have not been created by God. Newton wrote more about the Bible than science. Both coexist quite nicely except for the kooks that can't see the forest for the trees.

sci·ence
'si?ns/noun
the intellectual and practical activity encompassing the systematic study of the structure and behavior of the physical and natural world through observation and experiment.
faith
faTH/noun
1.
complete trust or confidence in someone or something
They are both nouns, so I'll give you that.

Thought that was philosophy? Thought science was trying to understand the world around us?
Instead of addressing your other points, I'll just leave this here because this is a basic representation of what all of these threads eventually turn into

Right.
That was when philosophy was what was used to figure out the natural world.
Before science.

Your post proves my point, faith and science are two completely separate entities.

No they aren't.
Science is the practical means for delving into the understanding of natural phenomena.
Faith is the lack of the practical means of understanding the same phenomena.
Let's be real here...everyone wants to know the big question. Why are we here? And that's how they're related and that's how the two go about it.

You're just a science bitch though

Please tell me how science precludes faith in God.
