Is the Sombrero not a traditional mexican hat? Is the moustache not very popular with mexican men (and some of the women)?

All I know is I know several Hispanic people that dont care for their cultural heritage to be used as a cheap caricature.
I'm sure there are a few people here that would get butthurt at the idea of a college up North hosting a Southern cooking day w/their employees dressed up in wife beaters and confederate flag doo rags.

Oh lord, balloons and mustaches? I don't even know how they restrained themselves. I would've started throwing deadly uppercuts and overhand rights as soon as I walked into the place.

oh dear heavens. A sombrero! Think of the children!
I guess they could've made authentic Mexican decorations and just put bright pastel colors and skeletons everywhere.

I'm sitting here watching 25 Mexicans right now and every one of them who can grow a mustache has one, no sombreros just hard hats.

They're more known for their quick jabs.

Thank you my gringo friend for protecting my culture , but I think most of us hispanics really DGAF if some gringo wears a sombrero at the lunch line.
It is only the pussified ones that have learned from people like you that we are victims that cry about stuff like this.

I'm sorry that you don't agree w/it being offensive but some people do find that stuff to be wrong.
I don't care either way but if you are going to do a cultural heritage meal perhaps you should do it right instead of going with bunch of lazy stereotypes?
Its not that hard to do something like that w/a little thoughtfulness.

#1: yankees can't cook southern food for shite.
#2: why would I give a shite what some Yankee college does? There are very likely things happening around the world that could "offend" someone if they allow them to.
Stop giving a shite about other people's stupidity and you don't get offended. Easy.
#3. They couldn't get any rebel flags since the SJWs had a hissy fit and all the sackless companies caved and took them off their shelves.

Hey brah, you can go sit on your thumb and twirl.
Sorry for pointing out that it wasnt the food that was the issue.

That would seem to be more analogous to had these servers being dressed up like this:
Not wearing something that is a couple of hundred year well known traditional association with the culture for whose food they are trying to serve.
I can't imagine I would have felt like I had to seek to ban it either way, though.

I didnt say I know more. I said I know many Hispanics that dont like that kind of stuff.
Again, it doesnt actually bother me. I was just pointing out that it was the food that upset some people.

Probably a teenage white female who has yet to learn her quasi-feminist opinion doesn't fricking matter to anyone who has half a brain and knows how to use it.
But just to clear it up, is it ok to go to Mexican run restaurants or am I offending them while I give them my money?
