Anyone live in this area. I'm visiting and it's really nice. Louisiana really is in bad shape.

Very nice back in '75 & '76 when I was there at Fort Campbell with the 101st Airborne Division. Do all the bars still close at midnight?

Anytime I leave the state and come back I realize how dirty and behind it is here.

Well I was stationed there from 2007 to 2018 when I retired. I actually just sold my house there. I was renting it out for the past few years. I love the area, if you’re an outdoorsman type there is so much to do.

The bars close at 0200 now

Very nice area!
I spent many, many days in the area while I worked at Ft Campbell.
Was offered a job there--2003--and the opportunity to relocate. Wife didnt wanna leave Louisiana and here we sit some 18yrs later wishing we would have.
The Land Between the Lakes is beautiful!
Not a bad drive to Nashville.
All in all Clarksdale was my favorite "military town" in the U.S. and there are very few posts that I havent been too.

Lots of Nashville expats and commuters. That area has really grown, economically and population wise. Especially with the recent LG plant, Google Data center and other popular industries setting up shop there.

Never lived there but we stopped there for a night on a road trip a few years ago.

We ate downtown at the Strawberry Alley Ale Works and then went to Dunbar Cave State Park to walk around. It has an interesting history, they used to have country music shows back in the 40s I think. We got there to late for the cave tour.

Obey all traffic laws in Clarksville. Cops are everywhere, I presume because of the proximity to Campbell.

Couple friends driving RV up from Louisiana into New Mexico, Colorado, etc and messaging - Why do we live in Louisiana?
State is the worse in almost every single quality of living category yet we stay due to family, friends, etc

I get a kick out of people who say “as soon as the kids graduate HS, I’m leaving!” as if Louisiana high schools are any reason to stay.
