cigar? I really like the Padron I’m smoking now.
I’ve never smoked a bad Padron. It is now my go to brand after trying a lot of different cigars. I still like trying new ones, but I keep a box of Padrons at home at all times.

They’re hard to beat.

So what’s another good brand of cigar?
Try a bunch of different ones, Cigars are a personal thing, like wine. I've wasted so much money buying cigars someone said was amazing one to fine out "To me" they tasted like a camel shite in my mouth.
Buy a couple of assortment boxes and try out many different kinds.

Just go to Habana Port and say, I’ve got $10. Whatcha got?
They’ve never steered me wrong.

Fuente, Padron, or Davidoff
Cigar and a hard spirit and I'd be floating in outer space.
I don't know why, but for me cigar is plenty sufficient to maintain the buzz.

I like Rocky Patel, Aroma de Cuba, Oliva, Fuente, San Cristobal, Montecristo. There's plenty of good ones out there just have to figure out what kind of taste youre going for.

Padrons are my favorite, very good value for the money. Also they have a few premium lines like 1964 and 1926. If you are celebrating someting special or on expense account go for it, but when I'm spending my own money on normal stuff I usually go Padroon 3000-4000 or so. All you need. Enjoy!

I know the Habana Port guys a long time from when they still worked at Don Juan in Metairie for Imperial Trading Company. I doubt they have a whole lot for $10.00 or under.
I was in Mayan Import in Metairie back in December, there were three, THREE total frontmarks for UNDER $10.00. That's IT. Not three brands, not three lines, three possibilities.

You joke but cigars are honestly nasty and grape Swisher Sweets taste better than really any other cigar I’ve had. I get the appeal of smoking one on your porch while you’re winding down but let’s not pretend that there’s really anything enjoyable about the taste or smoke. It looks cool to smoke one and that’s pretty much it

Seconded for Warped and Illusione.

Nothing wrong with Padron at all. It’s well respected and deservedly so. It can be pricy, so if you become a daily smoker it can get expensive quickly.
The thing with cigars is that it always changes. The tobacco used has variations in consistency year to year. If it’s hand rolled, there are slight differences in each cigar. Company ownership and direction may change year to year. They may change the blend of tobacco year to year to try to maintain the same taste. Then there is the logistics, how was the tobacco handled from the farm? How was it stored in the warehouse? How long did it sit at the distributor? How was it cared for in the warehouse… etc etc…
The point is, a great cigar last year may just be ok today. That’s why it’s important to visit a shop and talk to the guys who smoke em all, and talk with the vendors.
Padron, Perdomo, Autero Fuentes, Ashton, Davidoff - these are the old guys who have remained consistent over the years. That’s not to say other brands won’t have a better cigar - in the moment.

I guarantee you they can hook you up for $8.
I usually ask them what’s good from 10-15 right now.

Love this brand. The flavored ones aren’t an every time smoke for me, but a great option.

I've always found Ashton to be a consistently good cigar.

Don't light it with a bic or zippo. Use butane or cedar sticks.

High quality grown, cured, and constructed tobacco leaf.
Avoid “store brand” cigars. Most cigars exclusive to big online distributors like Cigars International are bad to somewhat average. If you look at the band, Google the name, and see its from a company/house/family that grows their own tobacco and is transparent about their process then you’re probably golden.
From there, it’s just about finding what kind of profile you like in terms of flavor, strength, and shape/size.
Always use a butane lighter or a cedar match. Keep them below 80 degrees Fahrenheit and above 50% humidity. Let the ash fall off on its own.
And finally, just enjoy it. Make it your thing. Don’t let anyone judge your cigar choice.

I’m really into Perez Carrillo cigars at the moment, though I’ve tried several others that I liked.
