Well I had kept such an open mind. I wanted to try and find a church I felt at home and it felt WELCOMING. But sadly I never found one.

There is nothing worse than the modern "look at me" churchrs. I prefer the old school "you're going to hell" churches

Biblical truth has a nasty habit of being true even when it's not popular or pc.

Many?
Don't you mean almost all modern ones? Its sad that so many of them do not realize how artificial it feels from an outsider looking in. I will admit the last church I went to my coworker had his kid get some award or something... I was too busy getting a kick out of the program they put on.. it was quite entertaining. Or as a previous poster said... maybe I should have been high.. then it would be great entertainment!

I just find it sad that there are so many adults that haven't taken 30 minutes out of their lives to actually research the foundations of these religions and realize that it's far more likely than not that it's a bunch of horse shite.
I have and am still a believer. Some of the smartest people in history also did and also still believed.

Not at all. I have no authority to judge anyone. Unfortunately thats a part of human nature. Youll be judged throughout your life from many other non-Christian groups as well.

Best part of being a Catholic - the Church generally doesn't give in to trends. There's a good reason why Catholic architecture is eons better than any other Christian denomination.
Doesn't take away from the serious black eyes of the faith, but Catholicism is far and away the most intellectually and culturally rigorous faith out there.

Try Acts29.com. I recently moved and was having trouble finding a good church. My old pastor sent me a link to this website and I found a great one. Its a network of very Biblical and Christ based churches.

I haven't been to all modern churches so I can't say. A very good friend of mine is a preacher of a local church. It could be considered modern but, it's direct, to the point and over in an hour. We don't sit around playing guitars. Him and I often discuss the hypocrisy of many modern churches. It was fascinating to me to watch the progression of one in particular here locally. In the beginning, it was full of normal people. Then one day the preacher decided he was a hipster. Slowly but surely, every member did too. My preacher friend and I always get a good laugh talking about the cult like following he has from his members. It's less about the bible and more about the preacher at that church. As it is in many modern churches.

As an agnostic person I'd prefer Mass with my girlfriend over a non-dem with my family.
Non-Dem Church: "You're a terrible person! Repent and accept Jesus into your heart and Jesus will save you!"
Sure, Mass is pretty old school but I appreciate the fact that they avoid fire and brimstone.

Except for that little pedophilia problem. And by little, I mean huge.

It's 2016. I wouldn't call finding church hilarious "edgy"

Hence why I referenced the "black eyes of the faith". It's a big problem, and one most serious Catholics I know wish purged eternally from ranks, but it's A) far from the only faith to experience it and B) something about which I was referencing is entirely unrelated.
I'm not even particularly religious, having grown up in a split Prot-Cath household, but I can see quite clearly the philosophical and intellectual underpinnings of Catholicism are in another league. From Augustine to Aquinas to Descartes to Tolkien and on and on and on - the Catholic cultural and philosophical tradition isn't really even comparable.

I'm generalizing.
They say these things when trying to convert...
"Are you feeling worthless?"
"Do you have a failing marriage?"
"Do your kids hate you?"
"Are you battling drugs or alcohol addictions?"

I don't really go but once or twice a year for weddings and funerals, but traditional Catholic Church all the way. I'm not down with the prom songs for Jesus churches.
If I go to church, I expect to sit down, stand up, kneel down, and shake some hands dammit.

Traditional. I can't sleep though all the shitty, loud live music they play at contemporary services.
