I don't know know how credible WhoSay is, but their report said it was her ex boyfriend, and was 4 shots to the chest.
There is a Facebook post going around d from the Selena Gomez Camp who was nearby saying it was her ex boyfriend.

Police chief said this morning no connection to Grimmie but that she was his target and he drove from another city hours away to specifically kill her.

Incredibly sad. Just 22 years old. And I can't imagine how her brother feels right now having been witness to it all. 
Also pretty scary considering I've gone to meet and greets like that (in smaller venues) without a second thought to safety.

Very Very sad to hear this
She was a really genuine and talented girl that absolutely loved what she did.
I remember her years ago when she was on YouTube doing covers and was struck by her talent. I was glad to hear she made a great career for herself and she truly worked hard.
The world needs a lot more people like her
