Last day is Thursday. Im thinking unreasonable lease is the reason. Houma is out the box when it comes to commercial lease prices. I know one small shop was paying 5000.00 a month for like 1200sf. Twin Peaks closed a few years back and it was rumored to have been paying 13000.00 a month, Sombreros in Southland Mall about the same.

At least no one got sick from their food while it was open.

Meanwhile the taco stand across the street from the East Houma Library continues to kick arse.

I heard the owner had 3 franchises, closed them all at the same time due to a nasty divorce.

Place seemed busy enough, but can't IMAGINE if they served daiquiris in there!

People on here hate when chain restaurants open. People on here hate when chain restaurants close.

I went there last week for the first time ever. It wasn’t super busy but that is a high profile stand alone location next to MLK. I’m sure not cheap.

I can almost guarantee you that isn't the case. The guy who owns it, Tommy, is Czech, and tight AF.

It’s Houma. No one really cares anyways.

It cost about $12 a square foot to rent an office building.

If that building is 2000 sf, that's about $24,000 a year.

Sticking to this, $13000 a month is $156,000 a year.. At an average of $12.. The building should be around 13,000 sq ft.

I'd say the person who agreed to pay that much for rent is the one who should be blamed for the business failing.

Really. I thought it was better than most I've eaten at. The past couple of weeks they had a gay guy that would tell WELCOME TO CHAPOLLTAY when you'd walk in.

Or the fact that there are never any customers in the place. Arby's is the only other restaurant on MLK that gets less customers. How that place is still open is beyond me.
