I apologize for linking CNN

This made me wonder, would you take a fat pallet of cash knowing that it runs the risk of having the corona?

Uhhh yes.

I'd take Corona for a fat pile of cash. And you could carefully contain the cash until the virus shelf life is over. Put it in a contained room at 105 degrees and I'm sure it'd be fine in 6 months. How long is a virus shelf life at that temp?

ETA:

Quick google says average influenza is active for 24 hours on surfaces

Yes, isolate it for so long. Viruses can't live without a biological host.

A better question is:

Would you take a million dollars to be infected with Coronavirus?

The answer from me is emphatically "frick yes".

Can I just send it to Capital One and let them deal with it while it clears into my bank account in 5 days?

I would 100% send my family to a hotel and quarantine myself in my house for a pallet of cash. I'd sleep on the damn thing. A $50 million dollar stack of $100 bills only measures about 42" x 32" x 30". Send me as many as you plan to destroy.

After 9-11 it occurred to me that bio warfare could be used to infect the cash of a nation and wipe out a significant chunk of the population.

The most effected group of a currency based infection would be the potential foot soldiers in a war too, the wealthy don't depend on cash, they have plastic/electronic/online. Eliminate the cannon fodder and destroy the opposition more rapidly and easily.

Want to destabilize a nation economically? Infect/infest their cash with a pathogen. Would work especially well against the USA with our tightly controlled blank cash stock paper that is a specialty product that takes time to produce.

If someone did this to us I’d be more than fine with wiping their country off the map

Poor people. Druggies and dealers, bad credit people, the thousands of homeless on streets in just about all urban areas nowadays,...

Cash (or anything that exchanges hands) is already infested with bacteria, some of them very pathogenic. It would be extremely difficult to "infest" currency, and have that pathogenic bacteria cause disease in healthy people.

Not to mention, a stripper's immune system will shake off anything less than anthrax.
