They dropped the happy hour 2-1 drafts and 2-1 cocktails here locally.

I wish they’d bring back the old recipe for their chicken crispers. Those things were fantastic.

Best chips and salsa ever

In the late 90’s and early 2000’s the Chili’s off College Dr and Constitution in Baton Rouge would have an hour long wait on Friday and Saturday evenings.
It was really a hopping place. Good times and great memories.

The secret was to just make their food better.
I don't eat Chili's very often, but it's always good when I do. Their honey chipotle chicken crispers are fricking banging.

They ruined the Chicken Crispers
Yeah they did. The chicken strips they have now don't compare at all.
We ate at the location in Shreveport a couple of weeks ago. I'd give it a solid 8/10 for fast casual. It was almost like walking back in time. We were greeted, our server was great, the manager talked to every table, and the food was hot and pretty tasty.

Imagine that - better food, with good value and a quicker delivery. It's amazing how executives can forget this formula works.

Kinda agree. But they have fricked themselves. Kept service bad, but jacked prices.
You can overcome 1, but not both of those. They ran off loyal customers and caused them to try others chains....never to return

Yep, blue store every time we want fried chicken. Way better experience.

He seems like a joy to work for. Sure it's a short clip and not enough to truly get to know him, but he seems genuine.

But have they fixed the service in “most markets”?
Before Covid the service at the Chilli 's by our house was incredible. So bad to the point we stopped going for awhile. It's now starting to get better.

Popeye's needs the "pull around for spicy, baby". Otherwise, it's not Popeye's. I was once greeted and had quick service at a Popeye's. I came away feeling like I was in the twilight zone.

Interesting video, thanks for posting. I honestly wouldn't have guessed that much of their food is prepared in house to the extent that it is...

There will be case studies for decades on what Chili’s has done for turn around.
Even me.who hates chain restaurants, has to give the food props. We can get two triple dippers for a family of 4 at a very reasonable price. It is not great food but it is great value.
We’ve been to the local one twice in last year.

I haven't been to a Chili's in years. Do they sill have the Southwest Egg Rolls?

Posted on 4/23/25 at 9:00 am to Darth_Vader
and those generated only 20% of the sales for crispers. Dropped them and crisper sales went up.

Have one super close to the house now, and it is so easy to pick up something quick in a pinch. Food is consistently okay.
Their marketing department is on point as well.
