The evolution of preferable date nights is pretty funny.
High school - any fast food or trashy establishment like Chili’s, Applebee’s, etc. was the shite.
College - starts off as going to bars and other places like that then evolves to over spending on places like Ruth’s Chris, Fleming’s, Sullivan’s, etc..
23-28 - mixture of the end of college and high school
29-after - staying home and cooking for each other is unbeatable.

I will say this.
I never been to Red Lobster.
I have only gone to Applebee's once.
And I have gone to Chilis quite a few times, but it's never my first choice.
frick Red Lobster if you live in South Louisiana. A chain seafood restaurant should be illegal here.
Applebee's. It's just regular food. I'd rather eat something cooked at home or by someone else I know, who cooks well.
Chilis, it's the best place to go drink, out of the three and they have a desert I like, but forget the name of it.
