The subject was the Manning’s as a family. I don’t care one way or the other about any of them until I read this about their generosity which I think is amazing. I do not think Eli is up to Peyton’s or Archie’s status as a qb.
As far as Elway I know he did the same thing as Eli but he is not the subject. I have eaten as his steak house and I like that.

This is great news. I like the Mannings. Archie was a Saint and the family is from New Orleans and have been good ambassadors for Louisiana and the New Orleans. Yes they didn't go to any of the Catholic schools in New Orleans, but they are not Catholic and yes none of the boys seriously considered LSU, but they are an Ole Miss family and I can't blame Cooper and Eli for going to Ole Miss. Peyton made the best decision for him at the time LSU was not a powerhouse and that sort of goes for Eli's decision. Arch went to Texas, but it's not their fault LSU did not win over any of the Mannings.
Hell, Billy Cannon Jr went to TAMU.
As others have said they are good people. Everyone I know who has met or known or dealt with the Mannings have good things to say about them.

But let's dig deeper into what you're getting at. Is there some random reason that I am required to love every member of the Manning family that I am unaware of? Why are you acting like this is some gigantic slight against them and why do you seem to be so offended that I don't particularly care for them? It's fricking weird. There are plenty of people in this world, famous or not, that I don't really care about or particularly like regardless of their charitable contributions....as I'm sure there are for you as well. So why is me not liking them so egregious to you?
And a lot of people don't like Eli or Peyton because they didn't go to LSU. You can't eliminate that as a reason just because you want to; it's a legitimate reason. As an LSU fan in the late 90s/early 00s, why in the frick would I like Peyton or Eli Manning (especially Eli at that time)?
I don't think they are evil pieces of shite or anything like that. I simply said I don't care for them...and also said that they have grown on me more in retirement and that I like them more now anyway. Yet you're still clutching your fricking pearls. Are you gonna be okay?
But hey, let's have a multi-day argument about this and take the focus of the thread off their charity and make this about your inability to grasp that someone may have a different opinion of someone than you do, I guess.

It’s short for Archibald with is actually Archie’s middle name. I’m sure they shortened it to not get it confused with his grandfather’s name….
