Parking for stores should be weight based as well. Fatties should have to park as far away as possible.

Like complex grains being better for you than simple grains because the body has to work and expend energy to break it down. You’re right.

I eat and drink whatever I want, still at age 47. The important thing though is I get up every morning and run 5 miles, okay not every morning I've cut down to 6 days a week, and during the summer when my pool is usable I swim every evening.
I mean we actually have people in this country who are so fat and lazy that they can't even walk through the god damned grocery store to buy their groceries. My family has standing orders to just shoot me should I ever attempt that.

You think so, but I would bet you eat it a lot more than you think you do if you eat out, or shop from anywhere else but the outside aisles of a grocery store. If you’re getting prepared foods to put together, odds are strongly in favor of you consuming HFCS. I believe it’s been said that somewhere along the lines of 70 percent of products found in your grocery store contains HFCS.

Even your average fit person doesn’t do that. I do the same thing. Work out so I can eat some fried food every now and then, but I find eating healthier helps a lot more than working out

None of my kids is overweight. No grandkids either.
I do sport a gas tank for a sex machine. But Im in my mid 50's and earned that motherfricker.

I read an article a while back that talks about why drinking only diet drinks actually make people even more fat.
The theory was that the artificial sugars are not absorbed into the blood stream by the gut's bacteria. Eventually the less efficient bacteria die off leaving only the exceptionally efficient bacteria alive. Then when that person eats something with added sugar ALL the nutrients are extracted and processed. Very little is wasted.
Ever since reading that I have cut back my artificial sugar consumption big time. I'm going to try and find the article and link it when I do.

This isn't even debatable. It's much easier to get a 500 cal deficit by not eating a cheese burger than running the associated number of miles to offset that burger. Exceptions are steeple that exercise/play sports for a living.

This. It's not about high fructose corn syrup or any of that other bullshite. It's calories in vs. calories out. I run 35+ miles a week and eat pizza, doughnuts, cookies, etc.
The number one issue is portion control. It's not that America eats bad food, it's that America eats SO MUCH bad food. We eat McDonald's for breakfast, then a 500 calorie frappachino "snack" at 10 am, then lunch, then another "snack" at 2 pm, then dinner, desert and a late night snack. You do that, along with zero workouts, and you get obesity.
The kids getting fat should be a criminal offense. If you have obese kids that are 10 or younger, that is 100% your fault. Teenagers with driver's licenses can go out and get their own food. But parents have the ability to control everything a 2-9 year old eats in a day. And if you're fat at 12 years old, you're almost guaranteed to be fat your whole life.

No doubt it would be best to do both, I mean you can be thin and still have clogged arteries or whatever. Obviously by eat whatever I want I meant that I want certain foods in moderation. Fried chicken every night? You're probably going to have health issues even if you run 10 miles every morning.

Yep. In addition to free breakfast and lunch, these kids get offered a nutritionally-bankrupt second breakfast around 9am. It's usually Pop-Tarts of some other excuse for a meal.

I read something similar, but can’t recall what it was about diet drinks that made them perhaps worse for us, but one thing is true IMO, it hasn’t made us skinnier. I am trying real hard to avoid sugars. Even in my coffee, I try to stick with black only, or perhaps a small amount of raw sugar, but that’s not perfect either, just a lot better than what I had been doing for a long time. My carb consumption is also something very high on my mind all the time. My dad recently had a heart attack and had a huge spike in sugar levels, which was said to contribute to it, and since then, I’ve been real conscious to change my lifestyle. I’m not overweight necessarily, but I am more conscious of it. Eating what I want when I want is over for me. I’m much more aware, and am having to plan my eating and drinking a lot more carefully.
