And why the hell do you think that is?

I myself don't enjoy all the shooting and maybe seeing attention brought to it might save a few lives one day...

What's the obsession people have with Chicago homicides? I've been seeing this from people online for at least the last 10 years or so. Literally the only place I see about shootings is on here. Are you following the daily stats by yourself or is it a tv news show or website that you follow that posts this daily? I don't get the fascination of posting about murders in another city that is hundreds or thousands of miles away from you and one you obviously will never visit because you have a fear about it from looking at the daily murders. It's pretty strange.

Perhaps it has something to do with the level of hypocrisy with all the left talk about gun violence, gun laws, racism, etc. and the fact that they have run the city for over 50 years.

The irony.

Be honest. You really don’t care about people posting about murders in Chicago or the victims who was murdered, you are more concerned with the spotlight being shined on the failure of democrat politicians and policies.

It’s because they have strict gun laws that obviously aren’t working. It’s mostly to show that gun control doesn’t work.

And that Democrats are fricking terrible

With very restrictive gun control laws.
Proving once again criminals don't obey the law.

It seems to have become a contest between NOLA and Chicago on who can kill the most.

It’s a city in America bud not Syria, so no it’s not normal.

The media has you thinking it’s all good and push narratives about whitey killing minorities. That just BS and I the data doesn’t lie. But, the truth isn’t as newsworthy and doesn’t get the Wendy’s burned down.

others have posted but it's borderline impossible to buy a gun there with strict laws, yet they keep having higher murder rates than other similarly sized cities. NOLA, Houston, San Francisco, and NYC can go a week without a murder. Chicago does not ever.

my particular ire is that the Mayor blames Indiana for having looser gun laws and for her citizens getting guns there but then committing crimes with them in Chicago.

it speaks worse about her citizens than it does Indiana's gun laws.

Factually correct, specifically the last Republican Mayor of Chicago left office in 1931.

Meaning the City has been “run” by a Democratic Mayor for over 91 consecutive years.

It’s a boil on Illinois.

Most of it is in bad neighborhoods on the south side and the west side.

Please define bad neighborhoods.

You realize two things can be true right? Chicago is a world class blue blood American city with fantastic culture, food, sports, etc but also has a major issues with gang violence and poverty in centralized areas. It’s a super shitty issue and it sucks that it puts a black eye on the city because Chicago (minus the winter) is fricking amazing.

Many people who live here are are fed up with the horrendous policies of Kim Fox and Littlefinger and hopefully the votes follow suit.

Chicago’s violence is driven by gangs. The gang culture on the west and south side is out of control and no gun law will stop the flow of them through the black market.
