The circumstances surrounding it should be taken into account to look at it objectively. I have taken those into account and you have chosen not to. Show me one post where I said it was justified...I don't know enough to make that claim...you on the other hand have said in the same post the suspect has a right to a fair trial...why not afford the same to the cop?

I give up. At this point you're just baiting people into arguing with you and I'm the dummy that keeps falling for it.

There really doesn't appear to be any reason to use deadly force. I'm not sure why anyone thinks the govt should have that much power

I have never said he should/shouldn't have shot the suspect.

The new blue one liner of "I feared for my life" is now as scary as their catch all blurt "stop resisting".

Wrongo. I've said more than once in his thread that the teens behavior should not be excused and he played a role. And no one else has excused his behavior either. And the cops behavior should not be excused either. Also You keep saying it was dark. The video shows it to be pretty light.

Maybe it was just the way I was raised, but as a teen, I was never in trouble or in the proximity of cops. I didn't act in ways to deem me a threat, so my chance of being killed was zero. I had two parents who made damn sure I was always accounted for. Start pointing fingers at useless parents who don't keep up with these kids. And don't start with me, I grew up in North Baton Rouge in 70805, and my mom was Pres. of St. Vincent de Paul. We visited these people's homes, delivered free food and fixed up their homes. Some were grateful, most were not. Poverty is a blight and epidemic, fueled by the governmen

True or False: This board gets more pissed when cops kill dogs then they do when cops kill unarmed black teenagers. Seriously, the OT has no love for the police until some black kid is shot for no reason.

If your dumb enough to run from the police at a simple traffic stop, then your dumb enough to get shot. I'm tired of hearing about these kids who run from the police and then end up getting hurt. What do you expect the police to do when they catch you? Shake your hand and say thanks for finally stopping?

I understand that yes, should the police have shot this kid running away from them, no. But when you play stupid games, you win stupid prizes. And not all cops are dumb, but you can't take that chance.

Also, I'm sure there is fear I don't understand being a police officer in Chicago, especially in that area, but that kid also grabbed something to make them think he had a gun, thinking "maybe if they think I have a gun, and I run from them, they won't chase me"

More like taking his cell phone with him like every other teenager . Try shooting a teen who is holding a cell phone who is running out of a convenient store with stolen candy and see how far it gets you. And no I am not equating car jacking and petty theft, other than neither is punishable by death.

As for using the n word with hate...who cares? What if they say "I hate that stupid POS" does that matter less? Black people use deragotory terms with hate all the time towards white people...I'm sure some in your family have done it. So what's your point? But to answer your question no one in my family uses that word...can't answer if any of my extended family does.

You are spot on with this. I will always say that the most racist thing to happen in this country is the sheer amoutn of black people that voted for Barrack Obama solely because he was black. That, in itself is racism. You will never hear that though because it is un-PC.

No one should die unnecessarily at the hands of anyone, much less the people that are allegedly in place to protect and serve. I've never been in a high pressure situation that called for the use of a firearm, and I don't claim to know at what level people other than me consider "high pressure".

I think horrible incidents like this are a lack of continuous on the job, tactical training offered to police. Nothing will replace a real life scenario, but many of these shootings are a reflection of 1. a gross disregard for procedure; 2. poor training in assessing a situation; 3. poor training on dealing with potential threats from civilians.

Unfortunately, many of these kids seem to lack direction from home and/or a healthy respect for the law. Furthermore, in the current cultural climate, there appears to be a disregard for the potential ramifications that could be incurred as a result of defying the law. It would be a good idea today to expect the worst possible scenario occurring when there is an encounter with police, and you are doing dumb shite.

I think with the new terrorist group like the BLM, there are many people who are trying or will try to push the envelope with local police just to see what WILL happen. That will certainly not end well for either side right now.

A few ideas:

Better screening procedures for cadet candidates.

Better training and development for police recruits, and upgrade the current curriculum/standards at the academy.

Continued education for police. Create programs that have levels of development that can be earned through time based training and development (similar to martial arts belt levels).

Mandate police to school outreach programs to facilitate a dialogue and interaction starting at an early age through high school.

Change local laws to hold parents accountable for the crimes of their minor children.

Impose legislation that will restrict driving privileges of young adults that have juvenile/criminal records/convictions. (some places may already have this).

Ah. Ok. I'm frankly impressed no one scolded me for not watching the video. The OT getting soft.

More than likely the people who would have jumped your shite for not watching the video have moved on due to the crazy conformation basis of the OT.

The story of Dinndu playing a stupid game has been told so many times that most have just given up. This is what you are left with...

The vid said he was stopped for suspected car jacking. Can it be confirmed one way or the other?

Running from the cops should not warrant getting shot.

People bitch about the decline of America because of big government progressives like you.
