A Plaquemines Parish jury ordered Chevron to pay $744 million in damages on Friday to restore an area of Louisiana coastal wetlands, a landmark verdict likely to have wider implications on dozens of other similar lawsuits.

Wonder if Jeff Landry thinks this will help lure/keep O&G in the state? Way to say "open for business".

Whatever money they donated to Landry is a drop in the bucket compared to what the oil companies have given.

This. Y’all are crazy if you think plaintiff lawyers create the negligence or causes of action they recover on.

Just demand better of your state and this shite doesn’t have to happen…or keep voting what your grandpappy taught you to…either way, no skin off my bum

No less than a third if on contingency, but he could possibly bill for the entire 745 million.
