I remember Chelsea's from the 90s. Cool place to hang out and yes lots of hippies.

It transitioned into "wannabe" hippies by the time they moved to Perkins.

Great news.

Maybe in 5-10 years the guy who owns Walk-Ons can buy Riverside Towing, knock it down, and build a sports bar there.

Never been impressed.

A wing place would probably do well there.

I used to enjoy the bars on Chimes and State St. The Varsity, Library Joes, Slinky's, the Bayou, and Chelsea's were good hangouts.

I tried the pizza for the first time a month ago and it was one of the worse pizzas I’ve ever had.

Most posters here would prefer the bar on the other side of Pastime, Georges Place…

Chelsea’s

It was my favorite place to play a gig in Baton Rouge. It was an easy load-in and out, plus they always fed the band and gave us all the beer we could drink. Having to go through the kitchen and up a narrow flight of stairs to get to the green room was weird, though.

The only time I ate there, I almost broke a tooth biting down on a crawfish tail that had a staple in it.

I always wondered what those places were on Nicholson. I assumed they are/were generic shared office spaces.

This could be big for the downtown to campus corridor. It's still a little far, but trolley type transportation between Tin Roof, Chelsea's, and Cane Land/Three Roll Estates Distillery would be fun.
