fvcking hater. I want the bikes to lane split. It reduces traffic. If he can go ahead and get through that’s one car length less I have to wait

How do you figure? This doesn’t even make any fricking sense

Also if the guy on the bike lane splits he’s not just sitting there burning gas. God forbid someone beat traffic without slowing you down. It benefits the biker but you also.

So no risk after getting back in lanes that the cars they pass up will get stuck at light or miss turn arrows or anything else to slow them down?

It seems like most likely vehicles to benefit would be the ones behind motorcycles and the motorcycles themselves.

I would be more likely to support lane filtering through stopped traffic at a red stop light for the thru traffic that will still have to stop for light & only on inner lane marker(s) between thru lanes (not outside or wanting to turn to avoid distracting or blocking view of cars trying to turn left or right at same light & blocking their view of people using crosswalks) than what many think of lane splitting which can include stop & go and very slow moving traffic due to high traffic like in OP video (or other reasons like a wreck ahead). It would have to be marked and signed well approaching each intersection for all to see which should also be paid for by fee or fees added to motorcycle registration costs.

Anything else would have to come with equitable ability in law for cars and trucks to lane split lanes in use by motorcycles anywhere and of course any issue should be their fault due to their lack of proper mirror use and not keeping their head on a swivel looking out for my newly legalized ability to drive like a jack arse just around motorcycles.

Why should those idiots be allowed to skip traffic. If you want to be able to use the road with cars you should have to follow the same rules as a car

im not really sure its more efficient

There are studies on this that you can review.

From a basic concept, you are creating a temp extra lane that allows some vehicles to get where they are going faster. Therefore, off the highway and out of high traffic areas faster. Net gain may be small, but we aren’t arguing the degree of efficiency.

The other day I was in the left turn lane at a red light. First one in line. Some dude on a motorcycle come up behind and passes me, getting in front of me at the light. I lay into my horn. He turns around and starts flailing his arms. What an a-hole!

Honestly... I don't ride my Harley up the middle lane because I don't trust idiots like him... I never do it if Traffic is moving for damned sure. Thats Stupid...

Now... If it is complete shut/down/stop traffic I will do what I have to do to try and get air flowing on my scooter, and also help try to relieve the traffic jam... Motorcycles can scoot out the way fast... Kinda like letting faster golfers play through... Letting a bike through will help clear lanes behind them...

But why
. The car has the space in his lane from white line to white line. He can legally operate within the lines in the lane he is in. There is no way a bike can pass between 2 cars without being in the lane of one or the other car.

I will add this argument that refuses traffic is complete bullshite. There is enough bike the road on a daily basis for it to make one bit of difference.

I don’t know why people get a hard-on about lane splitting. It’s incredibly common all over the world. If you want to split lanes get a bike. Don’t be a bitch about it.

Full disclosure, I don’t have a bike. I rode a dirt bike once.
