Check Engine Light

My check engine light came on today after I hauled arse through some relatively deep water (thank you Baton Rouge drainage). Anyone know what could possibly be wrong before I bring it to a mechanic? Read a few articles of people doing the same thing and they said it went off after a couple days of letting the truck dry out.

Go to an auto parts store and they’ll hook up to it and tell you what it says

I usually just keep driving until the light goes away.

There are some sensors in the exhaust system...I am guessing they were very hot when you plunged them into the water and one of them fricked up. They are all pretty cheap and easy to change, but you can't really tell which one is bad without an instrument.
As someone else said, just go and get autozone to download the codes to be sure it is not something like a bad gasoline cap.

You need a bottle of this. Just follow the directions.

If you drive a Volvo, that’s normal.

Karma for hauling arse through high water.

Place a strip of black vinyl tape over the light on the panel so you don't have to look at it.

Put a piece of duct tape over it.

Glad you’re ok. That must’ve been a traumatic experience. Hope your car isn’t too serious but you should be thankful you weren’t hurt
