Google flights for united, type msy-lax then click on the calendar for the departure daye and the cheap dates will show up. For southwest, go to their main page and click on calendar of dates.

You have to basically be ready to travel on short notice, right?

I love these threads so much. Southwest also has nonstop round trips from MSY to Ft Lauderdale for $134 from the end of March through October.

I have a nonstop from MSY to Cancun this summer but it's basically a chartered flight that's organized by the travel agency we use.

I'm not sure if you can book a flight through them or if they only sell vacation packages.

It's operated by Swift Air

I recently got round trip tickets from MYS to Chicago O'Hare for $96 on Mother's Day. We booked them on a Sunday I think. The very next day those same tickets were in the $200's. I don't know how or why, but we got lucky and now I get to notch another ballpark in my bucket list--Miller Park. Go Cubs Go.

Nice!

I'm thinking about flying to Chicago for the St Pattys day parade. I've always wanted to see them turn the water green and attend the parade. I'm just worried about how cold it might be. Round trip its like $180 getting there early on Saturday and leaving Sunday afternoon.

wouldn't bet on it. Seat price is ultimately determined by demand, and ever since the recession airlines have gotten their passengers loads per flight a lot higher than before.

This. Lower cost of fuel will do very little for cost of airfare

Yeah, I just priced out MSY-HND and it comes to like 860 RT. Pretty solid deal IMO.

LA has some pretty neat things to offer, would be fun for a weekend, nothing more in my opinion.

non stop to cancun? like this spring? any word on that and how much?

So there are nonstops on Delta for $375 and one stops on United for $319 to Cancun. I feel like I've seen cheaper, I'll keep an eye out.

Chicago is $184, Detroit's coming in at $227 You looking for a mileage run or a Fri-Sun weekend trip? I know DL changed their mileage earning so now it's based on $$ instead.

ETA: London is $774, HNL $817

Mileage runs are all about MQM's , not the redeemable miles - MQM's didn't change earn rates

I am only open to sunny tropical places not located in the U.S.

Ah, I didn't know the difference

San Juan $341 (If you don't count Puerto Rico as the US), Saint Maarten $623, Barcelona $727, Providenciales $536, Grand Cayman $431, Jamaica $491. Barcelona doesn't seem like a bad deal for that price...

Thanks for posting this!

Are you the same one who posted the $96 RT to Chicago about a month ago? I bought that then and am looking forward to CHI in July.

I just checked and the R/T $166 MSY to LAX on SW- booked a Thu-Tue in late April.

Keep posting these deals!
