Today, in an effort to help educate students and young adults about the dangers of opioid addiction, the FBI and DEA unveiled a documentary called Chasing the Dragon: The Life of an Opiate Addict at the Newseum in Washington, D.C., before an audience of educational leaders from the region. The 45-minute film, whose title refers to the never-ending pursuit of the original or ultimate high, features stark first-person accounts told by individuals who have abused opioids or whose children have abused opioids, with tragic consequences.
“This film may be difficult to watch,” explains FBI Director James Comey, “but we hope it educates our students and young adults about the tragic consequences that come with abusing these drugs and that it will cause people to think twice before becoming its next victim.”

Almost cost me my life! Never had any issues until a major surgery at 34. Pretty much lost everything I had except my life and family. Will battle them the rest of my life.

frick all this propaganda. They should go after the FDA! And as far as the epidemic is concerned, it's all about who and what parents expose their children to.

If you are willing please share your testimony. I am sure that it could potentially sway someone reading this away from abusing that next oxycodone or Heroin use.

Can promise you it's not. Feel free to send me a PM and I'll give you all my personal info you want. This isn't something that I play about. I'm lucky I still have anything.

Nov. 20 2015 I reached my lowest low. Checked into PineGrove spent 90 days. I stole, lied, disgraced everyone I loved. I can't even explain how I got to the point and I functioned everyday.

If you don't mind me asking, how long after your surgery were you prescribed them?

Did you have to mainline to "get well" in the morning in order to not feeling overwhelmingly sick?

The day I went home. Actually had a pump hooked up when I woke up,m. Part of my collar bone had to be shaved down, complete reconstruction. By the time I gave up I was drinking myself to death to stop the need because they had become so hard to get and I was afraid I was gone loose my job.

I meant how long after your surgery were you still supposed to be taking them? I ask because I'm having surgery next month and I want to be off the pills before I'm approaching a problem. Easier way to ask: how long were you on them before you started feeling withdrawals?
