construction of nuclear/Nat gas infrastructure alongside agreements with bitcoin mining operators fixes all this but I doubt anyone is smart enough to do it.. maybe Elon..
The company I work for started doing this a couple of years ago

The big problem is that ERCOT didnt winterize their equipment.

You don't just winterize a power plant. You can't park it in a garage like a car.

Also peak summer production is over 120 gw. So why did the grid fail with barely half the demand.

Because they lost capacity, because power plants can't have domes suddenly built over them.

CNN reports Texas Governor falsely blamed renewable energy.....blah blah. I’m on a cycle at the Y in front of a row of TVs and glanced over at the Commie station for a sec. Headline while that phroot Anderson Cooper is thinking about schlongs and bashing anyone anti-His opinions.

How many times does it need to be said, renewables did not cause this disaster.

If Texas would have been more reliant on renewables it would have been an even bigger disaster.

You absolutely can winterize a power plant. Do you think every power plant in a climate that gets below 20 degrees is built inside of a heated building?

The vast majority of trips during cold weather are due to instruments freezing. You mitigate this by heat tracing and insulating the instrument impulse lines, and if necessary putting heated enclosures over the transmitters. It’s not even that expensive to do. Many power plants did exactly that after they experienced trips during the 2017-2018 freeze events.

The problem is that even if they DID make changes after 2018, many also either a) took a bunch of shortcuts to reduce cost or b) didn’t do shite to maintain those systems given the 2 mild winters we have had since then.

whats holding back nuclear adoption?

The subsidies ran out. Oh, and major frickups with nuclear can be a little less forgiving.
