Ponder these two words:

Tandem. Floats.

What do you think?

It's a pure money grab for the Mayor and JBE. Why wouldn't they allow it? They knew that Covid-19 was coming in hard and dry but they allowed it anyway.

Probably more of a chance of the entire population of planet Earth dying from China flu than Mardi Gras 2021 being canceled.

You can't really "cancel" Mardi Gras. You can cancel the parades I suppose, but people are still going to flock to New Orleans and Bourbon Street will still be full to the brim. You'd have to keep the bars closed to fully make an impact.

Did they? My memory may be hazy, but did anyone, back on February 25, really expect coronavirus to kick us in the dick? Our first US death wasn't until Feb 29th.

I like how we just assume Mardi Gras caused this issue.

Did Detroit have Mardi Gras too?

Let's be honest it was pretty easy to predict issues in most dense (NYC ) and most unhealthy (N.O. and Detroit are top 5 unhealthy cities).

I can't stand Latoya but cancelling Mardi Gras would have been crazy.

Next year Mardi gras bigger than ever as people are going to double down on the "hoax" China virus right after Trump is re-elected
