Central/South Florida Flooding

Anyone paying attention to the rain total in the Central and South Florida areas? I know this played a factor in the plane crash yesterday, but we've gotten 6-16" of rain in the West Palm Beach area over the last two days. Started yesterday morning and it's been nonstop since then. Vero Beach, Stuart, Port Saint Lucie, Hobe Sound, Tequesta, West Palm, Gardens. Still under a flash flood warning tonight
Left for work in a downpour, drove back before the evening round of storms and passed 5 stalled cars stuck in the flooded roads. Made it home, but water is halfway up the driveway.
Everyone else okay in this area?

PALM BEACH GARDENS, Fla. — More than 15 inches of rain was reported in parts of Palm Beach Gardens, Riviera Beach and The Acreage over approximately 12 hours, leaving roads flooded and prompting officials to urge residents to stay off the streets. The City of Palm Beach Gardens said some roadways were impassable Monday because of standing water, while other areas could only be accessed by emergency vehicles or heavy equipment.
City officials said the reported rainfall was exceptionally rare. According to the city, NOAA Atlas 14 data indicates 13 inches of rain represents a 1-in-100-year event, while the reported 15 inches exceeds that threshold and approaches a 1-in-200-year event.

Crazy. Straight across the state over here in SW Florida we barely had any rain the last few days. It drizzled on and off all day today. You guys over there get some crazy events we don't seem to get as often. I remember a couple years ago I had to go to Ft Lauderdale for something and almost got stuck over there in one of these shite storms. A1A and Las Olas was completely flooded.

Didn’t flood in my area but yeah it got bad in some spots here in Central FL esp Melbourne. It was pouring when I left the magic game yesterday and it didn’t stop until 11ish this morning.

I rode a cruise ship from The Bahamas, up the coast of FL, to the Cape overnight. It was one of the worst storms I have seen, from a lightning point of view.

Two days straight of heavy rain in Cutler Bay south of Miami. More of the same here tomorrow.

Not to make this political, but as a Florida resident I’m going to go ahead and assume the polls will be a disaster tomorrow and we’ll be all over the news?

Since I already started us down that path, allow me to double dip. My youngest cousin works for brevard county clerk of court. Last night his boss tagged him in a fricking doozy of a post. It was about how all citizens are still required to show up for court, jury duty, etc tomorrow... but be prepared to deal with staff shortages. So citizens are must show up or there will be a capias issued, but government employees are meh, they might fricking show up... so good luck with calling in to report your legitimate inability to show up, due to flooding, to avoid that warrant we just threatened you with.
If i were in local government, knowing defunding local government via amendment 3 was on the ballot, I'd be a tiny bit more understanding with the public on election day... during a borderline meteorological event. Since the decision comes down to the chief judge, i had to see what curmudgeonly old baw delivered us this gem. 100% not what i expected, and since it's the ot...
I now entirely agree with her. frick those citizens
