I just learned that “Common” (The rapper) has a really strange and “exotic sounding” real name. No wonder he changed it... but it’s anything but “common”

I always thought Martin & Charlie Sheen's name changes were interesting considering Emilio didn't change his.

Interesting story on why Emilio didn't change his. When his father Martin got his break on broadway, he invited his father. When his father showed up and saw "Martin Sheen" on the marquee, he was really disappointed. Martin expressed serious regret about it to Emilio when he was about to break out into Hollywood, hence Emilio went with his birth name. The main reason Martin changed his name was his agent and other casting directors told him his name didn't sound white enough. Well the words used were he needed a more anglo sounding name.
