I think it's retarded to act like you know someone's true intentions.
I have seen and heard several people claim they did big game hunts of endangered animals solely for conservation reasons.
That is the go-to response to people giving them shite about it.
I just think they're all liars.

I don't have that kind of money nor am I claiming to be passionate about lion conservation like these people do.
Did they claim they were only passionate about lion conservation?

And still, if you really care about a charity and want to donate your money you shouldn't expect anything in return.
And yet most charities give things to people that donate, and that's before we even start talking about tax breaks that encourage donations. But please, go on with you amazing point.

Nothing wrong with helping the environment, bro. I know in the south we're taught recycling is for libs and nature is for pussies, but all that shite is actually pretty commendable.
Conservation should be high on everyone's list of priorities.

Wasn't directed just to you FWIW. You were just the last post in the thread so I replied to you

Well...it'd be weird if you didn't.

I think it's retarded to ruin a guy's livelihood for this. Fine him, jail him, whatever it is but it's over the top to drag him this much through the ringer.
Jailing him would ruin his livelihood as well hoss.
And even you admit he deserves jail.

And, we, as southerners who spend a lot of time in the outdoors, should take more credit where we can, because right now nobody thinks "oh southern conservatives, yeah, big fans of the environment." Part of that involves eliminating the stigma of doing what you can to conserve.

I seem to remember some owner of a big company flexing with his trophies a few years ago. Turns out it was the Jimmy John's guy.

If so then fine but social media pitchfork crap shouldn't be the reason.
And I'm saying jail him if that's part of the legal repercussions

Looks like we just had to pitch it a different way for you to understand

Is there a weight minimum for these types of hunts?

Oh shut up. I've posted numerous times in this thread that regulated exotic hunts are something I support.
That has nothing to do with thinking the people who pay to do them are generally douchebags.

Because I legitimately have pics of the marlin I have caught.
Probably.
I wouldn't bother posting pics though, unless you did it without hiring a crew.

I pood outside last night because I like conserving water. If anyone asks, I'll just blame it on the dog

Not sure if this has been said but the "provides conservation" angle is a joke. The groups meant to receive this money do not receive much, if any. Spoiler alert: Africa (in general) is as corrupt as Mississippi.
Also, this link explains the ridiculousness of lion "hunting"

yep I completely agree
and I'm no tree hugger, shite my truck gets like 9 mpg, I hunt and fish every chance I get
I just can't really comprehend killing a lion or any other endangered species
Want to save the species? start refuge or give money to someone who wants to start a refuge
Theres just so many ways to go about "conservation" that don't include killing the species you are trying to protect

The lion is endangered?
African lions are in very real danger of complete extinction.

Stop comparing tax breaks to killing fricking lions. This is so absurd.

Did they claim they were only passionate about lion conservation?
I didn't say they were only passionate about. I said I wasn't.
Everyone in here is claiming conservation to be the reason for these hunts. And its always what people say when they are blasted for going on these hunts.
If you aren't passionate about lion conservation, why would you give 60k to kill one?
Posted on 7/28/15 at 12:00 pm to Pettifogger
Oh, I must be mixing you up with one of those others who were 100% against it. My bad

That was a fun way of saying no, they aren't at this time.

It's a benefit given for making donations. Stop ignoring the point just because you don't like that it pokes a hole in your point,

Actually, you in fact keep saying "if they only cared about conservation..."

This. I notice a lot of the Yelp reviews couldn't help themselves but use the moniker "rich white". Why does it matter that he's white?
