To be fair, many American police officers are clueless that you're allowed to film freely in public. We have quite a few too many feelings police here in the US of A.
All you have to do is bruise the Thin Blue Ego and quite a few will try to ID you and charge you for obstruction or some other made up BS if you dont kiss the badge and bow to the boot.
