I will admit Fran Drescher was freaking hot in that movie. A certain Frank Zappa song comes to mind when I think of her and Debra Messing.

She sings pretty well, that sums it up, she was/is nothing more than a average bar singer, you could find dozens of bar singers better than her any night of the week in any city with a decent music. Years ago I was at a bar where her band happened to be playing. I was sitting at the bar minding my own business, talking with some friends and the bartender and a bouncer and not even paying attention to the music being played when right in the middle of a song Allison suddenly told the band to stop playing. She then pointed directly at me, described what I was wearing, and claimed that I was making perverted comments to her and told security to throw me out. The bouncer we were talking to looked at the bartender and said "WTF is she talking about?", and the bartender made a comment about her being crazy. After an awkward few seconds of silence and security doing absolutely nothing, the guitarist went over and talked to Allison and they then started playing again. I was probably at least 15 yards away from the stage so even if I did make perverted comments about her, which I wasn't, there's no way she could have even heard me. It was really bizarre. Coworker of mine knew her mom. I told her that story and she responded by saying "That girl has issues".
