Caught on video: Shooting overnight in downtown Hammond & suspects sought

It was around 2:10 a.m. on July 11 when multiple shots rang out and video provided to UWK shows officers responding to the scene within seconds because they were already working in the downtown district, Hammond PD said.
At the scene, officers noticed one person had a non-life threatening gunshot wound. He was transported to a hospital but Hammond officers say neither the victim nor his brother are cooperating with police.
Officers did release the below pictures of the people believed to be the suspects in the downtown Hammond shooting overnight.
Police are requesting the public’s help in identifying the suspects and locating them. Officers say the suspects were last seen entering what appears to be a silver Nissan Altima and traveling eastbound on Robert Street.
“It is an absolute shame that people act like this. It shows their complete disregard for everything when a police officer is standing so close and they still commit this type of act,” said Chief Edwin Bergeron Jr.
