Cats are just as awesome as dogs. We had many throughout my childhood. We trained em to go to the door and bark or meow when needed. We trained most of the cats to use the toilet.

I have two dogs and two cats and they’re all pretty cool. The one cat with the thumbs doesn’t really like me anymore because I step on her tail all the time (accidentally)

You can bathe a cat whenever you care to, like a dog.
I have had multiple cats that went in and outside as they pleased and never used a litter box. Maintaining a litter box nightly takes less than 2 minutes, if you choose the more historical route.
My cat sits on my lap, chases me around the house, talks to me and plays with me daily. It is the norm.
Every cat I have had/fostered has been a sweetheart. They require forming a relationship before giving over trust.
I am an animal person in general, and I would still choose a dog over a cat (if I could only have 1), everyday, but to state a cat is not a suitable pet is buffoonery. They are overall excellent animals to have around.

the only problem with cats is it's kind of a 50/50 if you're getting a tPOS cat or a cool cat. if i knew i was getting a good cat i would adopt one tomorrow.

I love cats and dogs. You're probably like a clingy woman (not saying all women are clingy) who needs someone up your arse 24-7, so you have a strong affinity for dogs. There is a lot of companionship between cats and people. But cats actually like some alone time and that seems threatening to you.

That's because most people adopt cats from the shelter or get one from some random litter. If you get a kitten from a reputable breeder, you won't get one that is a terrorist.

I wish my cat would do that. He just roams around the room and goes find a place to lay down. One place he likes to hide is the bathroom. Either he would hide in the towels or in the tub behind the curtains.

The points I was contesting were that cats are shitty pets and not compatible for companionship with people. I’d agree dogs are better, but that’s not the argument.
