This is the most unbelievable phenomenon.

My SO’s cats do not eat anything but cat food. I tried giving them raw and cooked chicken and ground meat and they turn their noses up. The only human food they will eat is Tuna. Occasionally they will eat a few nibbles of tuna out of a can

I don't have a cat. My daughter's cat likes snow crab though.

Yep, mine love everything from bacon to pepperoni to thinly sliced sandwich meat. No f#@$ given at all.

They’ll eat chicken or whatever but really prefer ground up fish buttholes (aka wet cat food).

ETA- to be more specific. One will nibble on chicken sometimes, the other will chow down on just about anything. He’s so food motivated I’ve taught how to sit and beg for bbq chips and other snack food. We have to lock him up when we’re cooking most days because he won’t stay out of our shite.

We had two cats for a long time(thank goodness they went to kitty heaven). One of them wouldn’t eat any meat, the other one would eat a little but would usually throw it up in short order.I always thought it was strange.

No. I have one weird cat that likes to lick olive oil off a pan after I cook eggs. They love some canned tuna though.

I have had a few cats. The first one I had as an adult was a stray who came up after it snowed one winter in BR. He became an inside/outside cat but aside from regular cat food, I'd give him pieces of turkey, chicken, and other various table scraps. He lived to about 11 but eventually got bit by something on the back of his neck. It abscessed and we took him to the vet for cleaning but he was always a little fricked up after that.

I’m glad to hear he isn’t the only one. Does yours like grits too? This cat will do backflips for fricking grits and even drinks the grit water in the bowls in the sink. It’s bizarre.

Mine won’t touch chicken. I tried and shell sniff it for a second then walk away.

Cat we had growing up loved the shite and would steal it off of your plate if you weren’t careful

Haha, I knew a cat like that until he met with some really good deli roast beef. After that, he was a whore for deli meats.

Yes to the crazy food motivation and definitely yes to grits. Cat will stand on his hind legs and reach up to try to pull the bowl off the table/counter.

I actually have never eaten grits around my cat. But my cat goes nuts for milk (obviously not surprising). But what is interesting is when my wife makes her afternoon coffee, he will usually be napping. When he hears the coffee maker finish brewing, he jumps up and runs to the kitchen because he knows my wife is about to grab the milk to put in her coffee.

WFH during pandemic has brought about some very interesting routines
