As soon as I win in a casino, I walk out. If I immediately lose, I walk out.

I'm a shareholder of a casino, I've spent plenty of time at them. I'm more ahead than not, I give myself a limit when losing.

I'm that way because in the past, I've seen guys come in and spend their whole paycheck before they've even went home. They freak out and look like they are at a complete loss.

I never wanted to be "that guy".

Going today with the wife Treasure Chest. We go about once every two months. It's kinda trashy I guess but oh well idgaf, we are both 50. I really wanted to go out to the box but we have some things to do in Kenner. We go to the coast some times but I really like Paragon. I think for me it's more about just getting out of town then gambling. If I stay around the house some ones needing a favor... which usually takes all weekend

They don't have the mindset of setting limits. Treat your betting money like any other type of consumption.

The problem is those guys that spend their entire paycheck at the casino probably have issues controlling all other types of consumption in their lives. They can't just treat it like another type of consumption or just set a limit and walk away. It's a disease and it's terrifying to watch.

I witnessed a women win a grand on the Video Poker in a bar. While she was waiting to get the money, she won another grand. The bar didn't have enough money to pay her so she went back the next day to get the rest of her winnings, and yes she won another grand waiting for the rest of her money. True story.

Walked in with $500 to blow. Walked out 14 hours later with $550. Was down to my last $30-$40 at one point and up almost $9000 at one point. Couldn't walk out...

That's a given, that's why we give away free alcohol on the floor and charge $9 for a pack of cigarettes.

Question:

If a dice table is so COLD, then why not even attempt to bet Don't Pass and Don't Come? Dice is exactly like the stock market. Bulls (Pass Line and Come bettors) make money, Bears (Don't players) make money but a choppy back and forth table kills everyone but the house.

Largest single session loss: $1,500

Largest single session win:$11,200

I only play tournament poker and usually make a small cash, occasionally make the final table. Net positive although the money per hour isn't much, around $15/hr. So the most I've lost is the buy-in, which is usually $100 or so.

I will only play a different casino game if it's a promotional deal, and I quit as soon as possible. For example, I got a free $25 in blackjack play for signing onto a casino's loyalty program. I played those $25 at a $5 min table for five hands and walked away with the real chips I'd won.

One time I lost a hand in blackjack and the dealer awarded me chips as if I had won. I didn't say anything and didn't touch the chips, I just included them in my bet for the next hand. Ended up winning that hand too.

There is an Indian Casino called San Manuel near Highland CA.

Back in the day (mid/late 90's) they had blackjack tables where one of the players served as the banker.

Basically, everyone at the table was playing against THAT players money, as opposed to house money.

I bought in as a banker, thinking I would make easy money. The table went on a crazy heater and I lost $1,200 with quickness.

Las Vegas circa 2002.

Was there for a conference and was just winning every night. Started with $200 and by night three I was betting $500 a hand at the blackjack table. Was around $5000.

Absolutely gorgeous hooker propositioned me. $800 for the best time of my life she said. I was single and started to think about it. Told myself if I won three straight hands I was doing it.

First hand: blackjack.
Second hand: 20 against a bust.
Third hand: 21

Told her let's go. Got on the elevator and chickened out.

Proceeded to lose everything in the next 24 hours.

Casinos are depressing to be in

This is 100% accurate when it comes to casinos that are mostly filled with locals. A bunch of old fricks with oxygen tanks, while smoking... continuously feeding the one armed bandit.

But I do enjoy going to Las Vegas and I do like Harrah's in New Orleans.. Because it has a better crowd to play Hold'em with and at times there can be a certain level of "excitement" going on..

The local casino will give you $10 to gamble with during your birth month so I went one time. I started playing the penny slots but after hitting on a few I moved up to the dime slots, then quarters.

Then I got up big. Liked really fricking big. I should have cashed out, my friends were begging me to but I was feeling hot so I went to the $5 slots to try my luck.

I put all my money in there and started pulling the handle for $5 a pop and after three tries I had lost everything.

I lost money one time and my kids had to eat bread sandwiches for a week.
