Reading some of the post event stuff online, people really forgot how good the beats by the pound No Limit era was. Absolute bangers that weren't radio friendly in that era with a roster of artists like Fiend and Mia X who would destroy every track they featured on. I've always loved both labels but Cash Money looked like a joke and showed up for a check.

What it came down to is P treated his people better. He had issues with Mia X and Fiend but they were in the stage. Meanwhile Cash Money had no Lil Wayne. Turk I can miss but no Wayne? Then even Snoop Dogg and Choppa showed up to do one song each.
Juvenile carried cash money but No Limit won the night. I think everyone forgot about 95-98 and how popular no limit was then.

Mystikal on Mannie’s beats is what’s up. I know they had posted a video together previewing it, but not sure the song ever got released.

No Limit won this thing and it wasn't close. Juvenile tried to carry it for Cash Money, but it was just too much.

Mannie Fresh and Mystikal had this song years ago with Galatic (popular NOLA live band)

I just saw a pic of Mannie and KLC working on a beat together in a hotel room. I think we all win now!

Paul and Juicy were the goat at fricking over their own talent. There's 0 reason we don't have any lord infamous solo albums, and 2 gangsta boo albums. Koopsta's solo was just a re-released underground tape. frick, i would've bought a crunchy black solo... presumably named "straight through your heart, with a har-fricking-poon." Pulling k-rock from the killa klan kaze and replacing him with project
Edit: back to cmr vs no limit... i saw young bleed is in the icu post having an aneurism after the verzuz appearance.

Three 6 was dead by 2013 as well. Last album was in 08.

It would’ve been tight to have an infamous solo album though. I agree.

Personally, i think their albums get progressively worse, falling off real quick after chapter 2 world domination.
Lord Infamous was the man. Loved that guy.

It’s all the white boys that made these two record labels the lions-share of their fortune.
That’s a fact.

That's all rap music. Rap was a minor fad until white people started buying Def Jam records. Then west coast rap like NWA took off after all the media attention. I only got that album because we knew our parents didn't want us to listen to it. Same with death row and through the 90s.
The only way a rap album goes platnium is with white people buying it too.
