No Limit has some classic tracks. Cash Money had much more fire. Even earlier ones like Chopper City the original--All On U.
If we're talking quality of song--not popularity--Big Boy put out enough quality to compete with No Limit. But BB was certainly not as recognized.
New Orleans 90's rap was both awful and great. G-Slimm, Partners N Crime, Fiend, Mystikal, Black Menace on Big Boy, UNLV, Mannie Fresh, Big Tymers, and BG on Cash Money, Fila Phil, Souljah Slim, Ricky B, Dirty Red, DJ Jubilee I'm blanking on so many more.
They were all very angry. Except Jubilee and Mannie, Mannie Fresh was always just a cool arse dude.
BG - All On U
PNC - We Don't Love Them Hoes

Cash money vs No Limit Versus. Who you got?
I used to work at the Foot Locker across from The Chimes when No Limit was headquartered in BR and P lived in CCLA. Those guys came in regularly to buy new gear every time. I’d always sell them new Jordans before their release date so I made a lot of money off those guys, but musically I’m more of Cash Money fan.

I think Lil Wayne alone brings Cash Money over the top. No Limit was all but done by 2002. They had a great run til 99, but so did Cash Money.
Someone can correct me if I am wrong but I would put No Limit's 'mainstream' time frame from mid 1996 (when Ice Cream Man was released) to about the end of 2002.
Cash Money was late 1998ish to ????
But yes I agree Cash Money had the longer time frame of successful albums No Limit had success but died out earlier.

I can remember Silkk the Shocker's MTV Cribs episode looked like the house was in a golf course neighborhood in Baton Rouge? Always wondered what the neighbors thought
