The master in my current house was carpeted when we bought it. It had this giant soaker tub made out of that pre-formed plastic marble shite and even the steps and surround of that tub were carpeted. It was laughingly terrible, just terrible.

I always see specs of pee on the tiles around my toilet from it splashing out. And some nights I miss , so I can't imagine having carpet

When I was in real estate I showed a house of a well known Italian family. It was an older house but very well kept and in tip top shape. Not only did they have carpet in the master bathroom, but it was bright red carpet - wall to wall. Around the toilet, butted up to the tub and shower, to the vanity and it was presumably as old as the house which was 30 or so years old. I’m not a germaphobe but that grossed me out.

Carpet got big in the 80s when everyone was on cocaine.
Not only did they put it in bathrooms, they covered beautiful wood floors with that allergen collecting monstrously.
