Stay on the ship in Honduras and Belize and relax , you won't be missing anything unless you want to scuba dive in Belize. Even then you have to ride a tender boat to and back from Belize and that sucks as well. The cruise part , I think , is the best way to vacation if you're fortunate enough to live close to a port city. We cruise with Norwegian and it's my favorite way to vacation. Very easy for us to drive 30 minutes , get on ship and vacation for 7 days. You're issue (we made the same last year) is your inteneriay. Honduras and Belize are not built up enough yet to enjoyable imo. Mexico is Mexico. Some cool history there but other than that it's meh. Should have went east. Or to Cuba! That's where I'd like to go next.
ETA: Maybe it is the time of year we go every year (Jan or Feb) or maybe it's that we have not been on a Carnival ship , I don't know but we see absolutely no trash or trashy acting people when we go. Most times we've gone , there haven't even been for than 20-30 children on the whole ship. Did have an "early" spring break group one year but were they fun and didn't bother us any.

Just got back from one to the Bahamas, the 6-10 day cruises are far less "trashy"...the 4 day booze cruises yeaaaah you get what you pay for.
If you're with a group you enjoy and you like relaxing, eating food, and not cleaning up after yourself you'll have a blast.
Honduras (Mahogany Bay) is a beautiful island.

Well worth it for the dive.

Yeah, that is what I was told. I have yet to ever scuba dive but if I were to decide to learn how to do so at home then that would be a reason I would go back to Belize. People were saying that it was a top 2 destination in the world to scuba dive.

Eat in the dining room and not in the cafeteria. Always eat a big breakfast before you leave the boat for a destination.

The Roatan/Belize/Cozumel cruise is hard to beat for a diver.
Belize has more coral than I've ever seen and Cozumel consistently has an abundance of large marine life.
If you're interested in it at all, do the beginner scuba in cozumel next time you're there. All you need is to be comfortable in the water and a semi decent swimmer. Trust me, you'll enjoy it. I've been diving for 10+ years and I still enjoying doing the beginner dive with friends for their first try.

Use hand sanitizer often and don't touch elevator buttons with your finger. Use your knuckles. Lots of good eats and good times. Use the newsletter for the following day to kind of plan your day in advance.

Don't go cheap on your room. Get one with a private balcony, high up.

I love cruises. We sailed out of NOLA for the typical Mexico stops.
I wish I had someone drop us off and pick us up.
I didn't know parking there was $80.

What this man said.
Also, if you're single expect hordes of drunken single sloots. Like shooting fish in a barrel.
If you're married....still like shooting fish in a barrel but you have to be a bit more discreet.

Mexico, we went rented a taxi in Cozumel and had him take us around the island to a few different places, we had him all day for $80. Went to a couple places on the western Side of Cozumel had a few drinks. Ended up at Sky Reef, nice little place. Food is great and they pour top shelve stuff for an inclusive price. Snorkeling there is pretty good one of the nicest places I've been.
Honduras, across the street from the port is the best Zip Lining I've ever been on. I would do that again. We went to the Iquana Farm and hand fed Tarpons and Monkeys. Didnt get to do any snorkeling or anything there. Ate a hole in teh wall place on the beach. Nice little Island, almost everyone speaks English.
Belize, we went Cave Tubing. It was pretty cool. The bus ride is about an hour there and back, and the roads are rough. You have to walk a path in the jungle that's about 1/2 mile long. We had fun adn I'm glad we went but if I went back on that cruise I probably wouldn't do that again.

In Honduras, get off boat and find a taxi driver to take you to beach where there is a bar and music. 40.00 for 4 people all day long. Great beach and super clear water. Tipped the guy good because he stayed there all day and waited on us.

Don't go during a holiday. I didn't find nearly as many trashy people on a recent trip (Cozumel, Honduras, and Belize). I think the dip in oil field workers helped with that. We did the private island in Honduras, Cave tubing in Belize, and chilled in Cozumel. Go to chill and things will be cool. As for the food, the bigger ship had better food IMHO. The steak house wasn't cheap but was on point.

Belize City is a shite hole. Stay on the ship or do an excursion like cave tubing.

If you see a Fatbody on there named mini hippy, or Brent as his mama calls him, kick him in the nuts for all of us so he can't procreate. Trust me on this.

When are you going? The Dream is about to dry dock in two weeks and get a few upgrades.
I'm taking this same cruise in June. It'll be my 3rd time on the Dream, but my first taking this route.
If you go on the cruise with the mindset to point out everything and everyone trashy then you will be miserable for 7 days and those trashy people will have a much better time than you. Just go and relax and enjoy yourself.

Do you know what upgrades it's getting?
ETA - Hopefully it gets Guy's Burger Joint since that is much better than the old burger bar on those ships.

never been on cruise. hitting ports in mexico, honduras, and belize. Any droppers have thoughts on what to do/not to do?
thanks
Did this same one not too long ago with RC with my wife.
Rented a scooter in Cozumel and basically just went wherever we wanted. Circled the whole island. Stopped for lunch and some other stuff along the way. I had never driven a scooter before, and had to lie to the guy to be allowed to rent it. Swerving and nearly crashing while pulling out of the lot was pretty funny in hindsight.
Was more interested in the historical stuff in Belize. Visited St. John's Cathedral and the museum in town. A little bit of a sketchy area, but nothing to be freaked out about. Had lunch at a local place. Had a very good lunch (and huge) meal for like $7 USD.
The area directly outside the port in Roatan, Honduras was sketchier than Belize City, so we didn't go that far, but we did check out some local shops. Got some Honduran coffee, and some other stuff.
Checked out two Mayan ruin sites in Costa Maya. The sites we went to were much farther into the interior of the mainland than the ruins where most cruisers go. As a result, we got to see a lot of the local Mexican countryside and small towns, which was cool. We also had an awesome tour guide who kept tossing Coronas at us. The ruins were basically empty since no one wants to travel that far inland. We got to climb them and basically go wherever we wanted to explore. No restricted areas or ropes anywhere.
