Courts don't pay unless someone sues.
I was also under the impression that LA had de facto limits on claims, but I may be mistaken.

About 1/3 of may cases were absolutely legitimate and the plaintiff deserved the big money. About 1/3 were semi-legitimate where the plaintiff was injured by we paid too much because he/she malingered. The last 1/3 were crap where a plaintiff used a minor accident as an excuse to stop working.
That's been my experience as well-maybe a little more towards the crap/exaggerated claims around my area, but that's because you can't go 10 feet in Atlanta without tripping over an injury attorney.
I received a demand a few weeks ago for policy limits ($100,000) for $750 in chiro specials

What your friend is doing is fraud. Other than that, no issues.

Let's just say it's an insurance carrier in GA, similar to a LA Farm Bureau.

Your friend is fricked, and should be fricked.

Your friend is barred from recovery. For BI the first $25k for pd the 1st $15k

Yes it sucks that he got hit and it wasn't his fault. But dont'the drive without insurance.
People like him are why I'm still out several hundred dollars from my deductible when I got rear ended a few years ago. Guy was driving a lifted Excursion that probably cost him $30k, but he just couldn't swing that extra 100$/month to stay covered. Sucks for that guy too, because my insurance sued him and now has a settlement against him, until he pays back.

His logic is "my proof of insurance says 4/8". How will other company find out?
Date and time stamp in the company system as well as the Dec page. Your friend is fricked 10 ways to Sunday. Should have had insurance.

Why is he even attempting that?
And I've never heard of No Pay No play. I'm assuming that means if you get an accident that isn't your fault, don't have insurance but the person who caused it does, they don't have to cover the costs?
