I was backing out of my parking lot spot and a lady said I hit her car as she was driving past. I have no damage and felt no impact. Her bumper has light scratches and not dent. My car is red yet there are black marks on her car. She demanded that the entire front of the car be replaced or pay cash if it's "cheaper for me".

Sounds like she fricked up her car and wants to put the blame on someone else. If she wants to get the law involved then stick to the story that you didn't do it. If she doesn't wanna get the law involved then give her one of these and be on your way.

In many areas parking lot fender-benders are no-fault. Call the law.

Look for surveillance cameras and if so, review and ask the owner to preserve asap. Get a copy.

just always make sure the other person leaves the scene first if he or she doesn't want to get the police involved. sounds exactly like a scam.

Few years back I actually did back into someone. Got out and looked at his bumper. He said "That looks like $1,000" I took out a 2 C-Notes and said "That looks like $200....right now....in your pocket and we are on our way"

No scam and probably not germane to the topic. I just love the story.

For 30 years S. Memphis drivers run a scam to cause accidents for cash.

Southhaven MS north to mid city Memphis better keep your eyes on the car ahead of you. Never know which ones will have intentionally disconnected their tail lights to cause people to rear end them. The heavier the traffic the more likely they are to score some ez insurance money with little to no effort.

Had this happen to my parents when my dad my have lightly grazed the other car opening the door. They’re just looking to get paid cash by people who freak out.

Call the police

This is the best thing to do. Even if you’re at fault get the police involved. If it’s in a parking lot you won’t get a ticket. And chance are if it is a scam once you call the police this lady will leave.

DO NOT give any personal or insurance information with out the police involved.

I gave my info simply because anything under $750 in damages is covered 100%. She wanted to call the cops but decided against it. Honestly she can buy white paint in those little bottles and it'd be fine. She claimed part of it was dented but she popped it back in. Why would you do that? I looked behind when I backed out and there was no car. She had to have been speeding in the lot considering I wasn't moving more than 5 miles.

Stupid. You should have called the police.

Since it was probably a scam, she probably won’t make a claim, but you should have challenged her on it.

I'd tell her to go frick herself, she wasn't getting a dime from me.

She says you hit her with your red car, that put black marks on hers.

Your red car has no damage and you are saying you did not hit her and that you never felt impact.

Take pictures of your car as it is now. Document whatever you can and forget about it. What is she going to do?

Should called the cops. I bet she would have backed down. Now she’s going to have back problems.
