Cut the shite with your pseudo righteous posturing. These are regular good people that bust their asses everyday at work and at home providing as best they can who have mortgages , car payments and regular obligations. Yeah , some of them start to run out of money after 14 days of doing those functions.

We made a promise to these folks that they would get paid every other week. We certainly made good on our promise, our partner(s) put them in a spot by not being able to fulfill in a timely manner an obligation that they were expected and need to fulfill

You saying it takes 2 phucking days to power back up so as to restore access to the applications where the info and transactions are hanging in limbo? If they have done that would not then Capital One be up and running by now?

I'm not one for conspiracy talk, but something went down they are not talking about.

people love to shout about the "big guys" but the little mom and pop banks just don't have the budget to keep up with the times... you may think its nice to walk into Podunk Fed and Mr Chuck gives you a loan, but they're probably way behind on their security updates and IT is someones nephew who has another job

I use local banks. I’ve never had an issue in 15 years. But I read about issues people have all the time with the Big Banks

I'm not in the bidness, and have no financial enterprise experience, but I am a computer guy with some understanding of how big systems get tied together, and I'd bet a fair amount that this is 100% correct.

Big corps by now have a good understanding of what kind of mistakes can happen, and they know how to avoid them.

Last warning to everyone, use local or regional banks or credit union

I had a Hibernia Tower account for years, then Capital One bought them out. At first the service didn’t change, then CO went on to the “new” type of banking, with their marketing to make them seem like a coffee shop with the CO guy, and their services went to shite.

I moved over to Handcock Whitney with my wife and I’s joint account, much happier.

They may be great people. Just bad stewards of their money.

You should not take on a mortgage and car payment that puts you in a position that one missed paycheck causes you to have to default. That is financial management 101, and completely irresponsible to the family that you are committed to support.

Your credit union has 30,000 customers. Capital One has 100,000,000. Of course you're gonna hear about them on the news.

No, they wont be.

Zelle is owned by Early Warning Services

Early Warning is owned by the 7 largest banks. They also brought in one processor to help them shave those costs and gave them equity in EWS.

There has been talk on some of the sub reddit that this is very much the case and essentially FIS is being held hostage. FIS and Capital One know that at best they can't restore the money until Tuesday at best. Not sure if I want to go with that estimate or if even it's right as to the cause. But as this drags out, both become more plausible

This does not feel like a power glitch thing at a regional data center....that might have been the thing that started the execution of all of this. But I'm thinking someone with less than honorable intent is part of this.

It should not take 42 + hours to get things right.

Biden probably signed an EO assigning all of the white men over the age of 35s money to everyone else.

Given the proximity to Monday's inauguration events you're probably not that far out on that limb

What’s up with Zelle? No issues for me and I feel it’s safer than cash app and Venmo. Am I mistaken?
